I haven't seen Jack posting lately but I don't check all of the forums. He would be my candidate for Doomer #1. I should be on the list. pstar, yeah. Monte too but he pulls his punches. Holmes. who else?

You have to define doomer. Some think we are all doomed, but don't bitch and whine about it all the time and think trying is half the fun.

You saying I bitch and whine about doom? I started a thread once about how beautiful clouds are. I just happen to think that just in time delivery means just in time collapse. There is no need to define doomer, its obvious what it means.

Hello PMS bro! I am totally a doomer but with a zest for living and life! :-) The thing that really makes me doomed out tho is these Jew haters and conspiracy delinquents.
Go Cardinals! How can one not have a sense of dread when it looks like Obama is going to go business as usual. Help us all.

Surely any candidates must already have a doomstead. Talk is cheap.

In which case, you should be looking in the PFTF threads for the real doomers. They're the ones with the balls to do something concrete other than whinge 8)

A REAL Doomer doesn't bother to have a doomstead because he knows he's doomed, so why bother?

I'm kind of bummed out not being elected.

Since my joining here it seems I have made some changes which rank in the top ten of those who have actually done anything aside from tapping.

Wait a minute, is this about talking or doing?

Maybe I'm in the wrong place...

Exactly right. If you have a bunker or preps or any of that you are not a doomer. PMS is close to a doomer but he has cans of corned beef and maybe some soup I think so that counts him out. I'll vote for holmes and his zest for life, even though he knows he's doomed.

There is a distinction to be made here. One can regard the fast crash as the most likely scenario without, obviously, any certainty. If it doesn't happen but things get real bad then clearly having a farm or having plenty of provisions is a wise thing. It is my contention that in the event of a total collapse none of that will help anyone.

I've been making this argument now for 4 years. You've got your little farm and heirloom seeds and the entire world crumbles all around you and your little band ready to go it alone. No fuel, no supplies, nothing but dieing desperate people for a thousand miles in every direction. Not too hopeful. Very bad scene. A million to one against you.

Yep, I agree. That's why it needs to be more than "little bands," it needs to be communities, working with neighboring communities. But not many folks are working on that, as far as I know.
