ammunition accountability act

Unread postby JJ » Tue 13 Jan 2009, 17:28:09

friend just sent me this:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'N')EXT UP! THE GUN COUNT !! Ammunition Accountability Act

The 2008 Legislative session has begun, and the Ammunition Accountability Act is being introduced across the country. Below is a list of states
where legislation has already been introduced: Alabama , Arizona , California , Connecticut , Hawaii , Illinois , Indiana , Kentucky , Maryland , Mississippi , Missouri , New Jersey , New York , Pennsylvania , Rhode Island , South Carolina , Tennessee , and Washington .

http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm
Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture, a data
base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand-loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more! If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun! Please give this the widest distribution possible and contact your Reps!

Keep in mind this is state legislation, not national legislation.

It's not new legislation. They've been pushing this bill for years. I know it never made it out of the judiciary committee in Washington last year.

It's a really screwy piece of legislation. God help us if it ever passes.

Let the logrolling between gun control groups and the NRA begin! More contributions for everyone!

They'll all have a good laugh over this next time they play golf together in Hawaii.

To quote Orwell, they (the gubmint) keep "pressing, pressing, pressing upon the nerve of power."

There's no end to it.

One thing we learned from the bailout circus last year: if at first they (the gubmint) don't succeed, (they'll) try, try, try again.

This is the good part, prehaps they are going to impose a 10 year prison sentence like they do in Canada for having an unregistered gun. Needless to say such a threat didn't work in Canada and it won't work here.

RE Didn't work in Canada...

So you can just walk down to the local gun shop and buy a pistol grip, folding stock, flash suppressor equipped "assault" rifle, 10 30 round mags and 1,000 rounds of ammo for it in Canada?

I can .... 8)

Not to worry. If these bills ever pass and the ammo makers take a hit they'll just get in line behind th porno industry for their gov't bail out.
