I'm taking a vacation from here. This place is getting too doomerish even for me.

And so this doesn't just get moved to Open: I'm exhibiting classic signs of Doom Overload, leading to withdrawal and possibly a bit of Denial (not of peak oil though!).

I manage the doom by not taking it so seriously. For me, levity is a survival strategy.

Whenever I feel that way RedStateGreen, I take all my
fondest hopes and dreams and place them into a post
here on PO that I like to think of as a little "Hope Pinata".
Then, all my brothers and sisters gather round for a festive
time and beat and claw at my "Hope Pinata" until it is blasted
to little bits which they scoop up and devour. It makes me
feel good to feed the doomers and for a brief time they
stop pecking on each other, and also it helps me maintain
hope, you see I hope the little bits of my hope that they
steal and eat gives them diarrhea.

Its easy to stay on task when the doom is flying, like markets tanking, dollar falling, Peter Schiff on every night. But the doom is very low rite now. And staying focused is hard, especially this time of year when money gets tight.

I am in the process of trying to recover from x-mas, and start saving some cash for the next prep. And as we all know,, IT AIN'T CHEAP!!

Doom = futility in my book.

Unless one sees doom as a vehicle to prosperity at the expense of others, doom/futility is just an excuse for inaction.

Take a break, work your plan and come back after a time and tell us your progress.

As Pops says, go back and think about where you're going. Ignore the impotent doom-mongers. Then, after you've done some positive things in the real world, come back refreshed and centred and tell us about it. And carry on ignoring the doom-mongers.
