Best of 2008: Poster of the Year

Postby wisconsin_cur » Sat 03 Jan 2009, 09:46:44

OK guys. Same rules as last year. Use this thread to make nominations for "Poster of the Year 2008". This category is for a poster. Please feel free to second, third, etc, other people's nominations. After 10 days (i.e. on January 13), I will close nominations and make the top nominated posters into a front page poll so people can vote. The poll will run another 10 days and on January 23, we'll announce the winner.

Last year's winner in this category was pup55.

Good Luck everyone

There are a lot of excellent posters here, but I liked reading DantesPeak and Shady28's posts most. ShortOnOil is a close second for me.

Does Roccman count if he's buried inside some bunker deep in the earth's bowels?

Otherwise I vote for Armageddon.

I second the nomination for DantesPeak, he and Pupp55 make a great tag team on a lot of threads and they both deserve it IMO, but given that Pupp got it last year I think Dante should get it this year.

Oh come on. I hate that logic. The award is "Poster of the Year". Not "Poster of the Year who didn't get it last year".

Let me think about this one.

IMO Dante made a heck of a lot of valuable contributions in 2008 with his posts, which is why I seconded his nomination. If he had made great posts in 2007 and lousy ones in 2008 I wouldn't have done so.

The best poster on this forum is ROCKMAN.

EDIT: I also need to add rockdoc123.

I like the oil patch knowledge these two Rock Doctor's add to this place.

I don't really see an outstanding poster this year. Maybe Pops for his continuing grizzled wisdom.

In fact, I'll go for SPG, as she is still doing sterling work after all these years, undaunted and eager as ever.

SPG or Big Tex

Shortonoil deserves the title of "Poster of the Year 2008"

1. SPG: Knows her stuff, sharp.

2. BIGTEX: Well thought out ideas, usually found filling gaps in important discussions.
