$60 oil price possible within days

Postby NevadaGhosts » Tue 05 Apr 2005, 23:12:30

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'U')S demand could push crude oil futures to $60 a barrel in days, analysts said.

Looks like we might have an oil price spike here fairly quickly. Watch the markets.

Hey Nevada Ghosts,
That's very cool that you dig in African publications. I am a big fan of Africa and was running the thesis in the early 90's that black people will survive the longest due to the best protection to UV-rays (remember when the shrinking ozone layer was in the media...)
That point might not be invalid after all and for us Europeans WestAfrica let's say is a simple 6 hour flight straight down south (I guess you are in Brazil after flying 6 hours south from North America). In other words, not that unfamiliar a territory. I've visited there numerous times and was shocked how un-updated I was about the place. (Slavery happend 200 years and more ago, it's history. It would be as backward as someone asking me about Adolf Hitler... he's gone since a long time).
There is a current Africa with current people and it is outstandingly beautiful. All the western media puts out though from time to time are bad events and hunger. Far from reality!

If any of you guys plan to travel there as long as air-fares are what they are (in other words NOW) please visit Ghana which is the finest of all countries on the black continent.

NevadaGhosts, this source points to some unidentified analysts who
believe based on reading tea leaves that the oil will go to $60 in a
matter of days.

If these analysts were so damn good to tell where the oil will be
in a few days they should be jacking up the money pot on nymex instead
of masturbating in public about 60 or 100 buck a barrel in a day
or in a year.

The fact they still make money by sayng that "US demand could push crude oil futures to $60 a barrel in days, analysts said." means they are
as freaking clueless as the ones saying oil will go down to 20 very soon.

I am so f***ing sick and tired of a bunch of assholes calling themselves
analysts without having a clue, starting with Phyl Flinn, going through the already senile
Greenspan who believes high prices will squeeze oil out of the ground
like a janitor wringing a mop and ending with that moron Cramer, with the
whole specter of cretins in between.

OK, got it off my chest.

Peace.

sinking

Postby parainwater » Wed 06 Apr 2005, 01:45:40

"Opec president Sheikh Ahmad al-Fahd al-Sabah said yesterday that cartel oil ministers had begun telephone consultations on possibilities of increasing production by a further 500000 barrels a day to cool prices."

I think this is analogous to the Titanic sinking another foot and the
captain saying that "we are going to increase bilge pump output."

Read today that Libya's requested OPEC to OK raising production levels. I'm sure THAT will help!

On the contrary, in the short term crude oil will go down because stockpiles are growing and gas price will go up because stockpiles are decreasing.

IMO, some things are put into media publications just to measure people's reactions.

These articles help in cementing my feelings on how bad it really is. I just remember to take a common sense view of all of this and base my OWN conclusions on that.

Chomsky has some interesting thing to say about the media in one of the books i'm currently reading of his.

Predicting the price of oil in a few days isn't that difficult,
unless you need to be correct.

I'm surprised that the article didn't mention the planning of the oil strike in nigeria(?) in a couple of weeks.

That should easily get oil over $60/brl
Angry yet?

Inventories are less in terms of per day usage even though the absolute number is higher because of increased demand.

Surging oil price poised to break US$60 barrier this week

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', ''')Prices look set to go past US$60 this week,' Titan Oil CEO Patrick Wong said yesterday. 'The hedge funds will try for this. Everyone is going short to make money - and there's nothing the Opec oil producers can do about it. They have no more bullets.'
