I love this one:

Gravity: Doesn't exist. If items of mass had any impact of others, then mountains should have people orbiting them. Or the space shuttle in space should have the astronauts orbiting it. Of course, that's just the tip of the gravity myth. Think about it. Scientists want us to believe that the sun has a gravitation pull strong enough to keep a planet like neptune or pluto in orbit, but then it's not strong enough to keep the moon in orbit? Why is that? What I believe is going on here is this: These objects in space have yet to receive mans touch, and thus have no sin to weigh them down. This isn't the case for earth, where we see the impact of transfered sin to material objects. The more sin, the heavier something is.
Riches are not from abundance of worldly goods, but from a contented mind.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')echnology and science are often lumped together, but are totally separate and unrelated things.

The problem with technology is that while it generally requires creative, intelligent scientific minds to develop it, any superstitious idiot with cash or a credit card is permitted to make use of it...

Are you trying to present a satirical image of the theist view of atheists or are you really that stupid?

No. Jason was just posting one of the quotes from the collection. That's a real quote from a real theist.

ATHEIST DAD: What's wrong with that kid?
ATHEIST MOM: I don't know, what should I do?
ATHEIST DAD: How about you lock him in the closet?
ATHEIST MOM: Honey, that's mean.
ATHEIST DAD: What else can we do?
ATHEIST MOM: He's a pistol alright.
ATHEIST DAD: Too damned smart.
ATHEIST MOM: OK, maybe put a cigarette out on him?
ATHEIST DAD: Heh, heh, you're such a devil. Come here baby!

THEIST DAD: What's wrong with that kid?
THEIST MOM: I don't know, what should I do?
THEIST DAD: I don't know, maybe tell a few jokes, make him laugh?
THEIST MOM: We could tickle him and give him hugs.
THEIST DAD: I like that. But there's got to be more.
THEIST MOM: What would that be?
THEIST DAD: I don't know, maybe talk about ideas and the world.
THEIST MOM: You think that would work?
THEIST DAD: Well, it would show that we respect him.
THEIST MOM: Do you have any ideas about the world?

EVOLUTIONARY SWISS WATCH:

homemade Swiss watch with 27 jewels.

Instructions

bag includes carbon powder, iron bearing ore rocks, sand, shaker canister.

Place ingredients in can:
Shake violently for 18 billion years until sand melts to glass, with enough shaking you will melt the Aloxide into saphire and it should melt the rocks into steel, and form the gears and wind the spring.

When watch is complete stop shaking.

Kit 12 dollars, shaker can 3 dollars instructions are free.

all the parts will only improve, building and constructing the intricate metal parts and finely polishing them.

the rocks will melt the sand into glass but it wont break the glass.

watch should self assemble, because there are over a million other swiss watches in the world and they all came from evolution this proves it will work.

You know, if I was an evolutionist, I wouldnt tell anyone, I wouldn't want to be classed as a retard.

Did you know all the human proteins are all Levo rotatory isomers?

Propose to me how this happened when science can't even do this with all the billion dollar equipment in the world from scratch not using premade living enzymes, our science can't even see wether one molecule is levo or dextro. Much less pick it, and install it in a growing protein chain.

From a mix of amino acids, a scientist cannot build a levo protein of 120,000 daltons, totally byond science.

So, it happens randomly?

I guess that is why people play lottery, they are quite ignorant.

Live could not have come randomly even one protein coming from random chemicals is impossible, a dextro protein would pooison the whole protein.

totally impossible. any one believes in evolution of just one bacteria would win the lottery 2x10^64 power times in a row.

rediculous.

how did life begin?

Energy was added as lightning which organized the cell.

ok when energy is added to your house roof via lighting you dont get a new improved roof.

you get a burned down house.

lightening doesn't ever improve things.

billiard balls when hit hard enough never form pyramids.
never.

Kinder.

Right.

Well... ok... I suppose if one leaves out The Crusades, The Inquisition(s), the Salem (and assorted concurrent) Witch Hunts, bombing abortion clinics, too many other examples to count...

Sure, I'll buy 'kinder'...

Oh btw, I've got some really nice 'waterfront' property for sale in southern Florida... cheap!

PMS, you really can't understand truth.

You belong to a group of people brainwashed into believing in some omnipotent butt monkey in the sky.

I speak from experience. So called christian families are just as horrible and violent to their children as any other group.

People can claim to believe in whatever they want, can go to their church every sunday, help strangers, volunteer, and still beat their children, molest them, and do things to them, that there are no words to describe.

The human race is vile and there is only one truth.

No one is to be trusted.

I'm considerably older than you and I've found throughout my life for that not to actually be true(for me). I've been able to trust virtually everyone I've met (to some degree) and I've very rarely been let down.

Guess it just depends on one's experience. Which is "the Truth"? Seemingly, both are, since both have occurred. You've had a rotten experience with the human race, I've had a good one. :)

No point whatsoever. As usual, back-and-forths like this just highlight how unhelpful sweeping generalisations are. Instead, try thinking about the people you actually know(I understand that Americans may find this a difficult exercise since I think about 90% believe in God). Can you break them down into two groups, the unkind atheists and the kind theists? I certainly can't. Some of the gentlest, kindest, most generous people I know are atheists, some people I know who believe in God are quite cold. And of course the reverse is true also.

I am quite sure that one can find every human personality trait in either camp, from small-mindedness to open-mindedness, from generosity of spirit to petty meanness, from compassion to indifference, from wilful ignorance to inquiring intelligence. These qualities are either hard-wired, or nurtured/knocked into people from an early age, and I don't believe that religion or atheism alters them much at all.
