Why do so many here NOT get this? We are entering a new "age".

I don't remember if you've detailed your vision of a different lifestyle. If not, can you outline what you see, what you particularly see as others not getting?

The old tree (of life) will move into the new... The energies will pass from the Masculine (Physical Emotional Reality) to the Feminine (Spirit, Light, Higher Frequency, Creation).

I was worried about the price of oil for a long time. Now that I see how a severe recession lowers the price, I feel it might be an opportunity for me. If I survive while billions die, there will be more resources left for me. I feel better after finding this out.

Not to be a smart ass but that has been my take on the whole Jeavon thing from the start.

Whether through conservation, demand destruction via recession or whatever means; cheaper energy prices give the person planning for much higher prices in the future a little room to make adjustments.

I'd say take this opportunity.

Can you prove that? The only energy problems France has are related to oil, since they have none. Exporting surplus electricity to other European countries who bought into such thinking and now have electricity shortages because of it is a big business.

But they can't in any practical or economic sense replace the fossil-fuel infrastructure. The fossil-fuel infrastructure is there because it IS practical, or has been, at least.

Fossil fuel infrstructure is here because virtually all of it is 30-75 years old, and in that time frame oil was extremely cheap, far cheaper than any alternative at the time. We still use it because even though oil prices are much higher, there still is a lot of economic intertia to use it. For now. Alternatives haven't gotten off the ground because it wasn't until recently that it was economical to use them.

Fact is many chemicals and reagents are already mass manufactured on a large scale and used in many industrial processes. Scalability isn't the issue.

No, even though the lithium and boron would bond with other elements, a "trap" for them is not so inconceivable. When you go to refuel, the lithium and boron compounds can be taken away and eventually sent back to be re-synthesized into new lithium borohydride.
