Contemplations about Nirvana

Unread postby bodigami » Mon 01 Dec 2008, 22:41:52

Not everything can be reduced to the measurable.
The power of the spirit to transform the measurable is usually underestimated.
There is no limit if you move higher in spirituality.
Even if someone wants to hear something wise, it may not be completely understood at once.
The spiritual link between two humans is potentially much stronger than usually thought.
The laws (dharmas) of karma and rebirth applies in a different way to buddhas.
There are reflections of other planes of existance in this one, ie: forrests are linked to the Sudabasa Abodes.
The power of meditation is usually underestimated.
To change reality it takes many lives of wise and ethical actions, which implies a lot of compassion and patience.
Through meditation it is possible to hack the veil of delusion usually called Maia, this cracks are temporal and serve the main purpose of acchieving Nirvana.
Nirvana in many ways, is a prerequisite of even greater spiritual heights.
An accomplished meditator can harmonize his/hers own internal energies, and those of others, even to the point of healing.
It is easy to hurt someone with insatiable thirst (trishna) of pleasure and pain, but it is wiser and more ethical to counter this trishna using spiritual energy (virja) and compassion (karuna).
Knowing past lives implies that someone has an experience measured in centuries, millenia or even eons.
It is healthy to forget some memories of past lives, but conserving the understading born from them.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Shannymara', 'I')nteresting stuff. Thanks.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('bodinagamin', 'I')t is healthy to forget some memories of past lives, but conserving the understading born from them.

In what sense do you mean "healthy" in the quote above?

In the same way as "letting go" and "traveling light". If we remember too much about the past, we cann't have enough energy, resources, w-e for projecting the future. Forgetting memories makes it easier to balance your experience from the past and the projection of your future.
