$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('BlueGhostNo2', 'Y')eah, In a way people have to shop for xmas due to social pressure.
I still remember the dot com years.
Back in those days some people would literally pitch a tent in front of a store the day before and sleep overnight just so they can be first in line when the doors open.
Scalpers would snatch up the hot selling toy of the year and resell it for 20 times it's worth --> remember the Tickle me Elmo craze?
My friend sold a video game console with some games for $1,000 to somebody who paid in cash. The buyer was in the IT business.
If you were in IT back then you had more money then you knew what to do with.
There will always be "social pressure" to buy things during the Christmas holidays but the world has totally changed now.
You no longer have to hold your head down in shame and flog yourself out of guilt for failing as a consumer because you didn't spend $1,500 shopping during the holidays.
