Horseshoes

I can picture all of us gathering around and playing horseshoes after the massive powerdown/dieoff. Ah, back to the good old days of yore.

I have a lot of good memories of my father, grandfathers, uncles, and adult male cousins playing Horseshoes. My father built a sandpit for them infact, and drove in the 2 spikes. My birthday is at the end of Summer, and we always had a get-together, the horseshoes came out.

My father also spray-painted a shuffle-board layout on the driveway. That was always fun as well.

Besides card games, and chess, backgammon, and board games from Candyland (for the tots) to Scrabble for the teens to adults, there is a lot out there.

Basically, that's how many of us grew up, playing those kinds of games!

Nice trip down memory lane, as you have said.

Just need a nice Summer day, and a nice glass of Lemonade, or Ice tea.

According to the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association rules the distance between the stakes should be 40 feet measured inside to inside of the stakes.
