Crow is tough...

Though W's talk this morning was gracious and conciliatory, I kept thinking about how he kind of wiggled his jaw back and forth in a way I don't remember seeing before.

It just dawned on me; He was chewing crow.

I heard a talking head say about W's effect on the Republicans:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '"')Honey I shrunk the party."

It makes me sad that we so often grab the reins in this country then run straight to the left or right and wind up in the ditch.

I really hope this time we can hold our horses.

I think there are a few who have in the near past taken up residence on this board who need to eat a little of the black bird as well.

The elections happened.
There was no October surprise.
Martial law was not declared.
No bunkers needed.

While crow may have been tough, it had to taste better to Bush than all the crap he's been eating for the past year or so.

I think he's wicked happy that his term is over, the Great Heist of 2008 was a success for him and his buddies, and that lots of fishing and brush cutting will take place in Crawford in 2009.

I'm thinking he just wants to get back to the ranch. He bit off more than he could chew I think and guess most would agree.

The old saw is:

"If you can't run with the big dogs, best stay on the porch"

It's really too bad he didn't.

None of those happened, BUT,
The stock market dropped 500 points in "celebration". I guess they were happy he got elected. Heres to it dropping another 500 points tomorrow!

So were the increases over the last few weeks a result of the fact that the polls were pointing to the fact that he would win?
Just because drudge draws a causal relationship doesn't mean there is one. In case you haven't noticed the market has been jumping up and down for a few months now.

Crow is a Peak Oil food.

http://www.thecrowroost.com/RECIPES.htm

"Can either fry on the bone or filet the meat. To tenderize the meat you need to cook in a pressure cooker for 15 minutes at 10 pounds or boil in water with a tablespoon of salt until tender to being stuck with a fork. Remove the breast or filets from the pressure cooker or boiling pot. Flour and shallow fry in a pan until golden brown. The filets are great fun to pass off to your friends as chicken gizzards."

i prefer organic farm raised crows.

"You should end up with 2 lime sized pieces of crow breast. Discard the remains properly." The meat can now be frozen, marinated or freshly prepared !

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pedalling_faster', 'C')row is a Peak Oil food.

I'd really like to give a link to the following but I don't have the energy:

I read that back in the day (like way in the way back) a dead crow or perhaps an oily fish would be threaded with a wick and lit as a candle for the dinner table when nothing else was available.

Just something to think about.

After eight years of the media’s harsh criticism and blame for unpopular actions, I look forward to the next four years of apologetic excuses, and even praise for what will likely be very similar actions. It'll be the same soap opera, but with different actors. It will make for a lovely CHANGE. This is how the world SPINS.

I've heard crow was popular table fare during the depression in my neck of the woods. I wonder if it will make a comeback this time around? I've heard crow should be soaked in a very salty brine solution for a day prior to cooking. Bon appetit!
