Who Will Work the Fields?

What's on your mind?
General interest discussions, not necessarily related to depletion.

While digging out our garden in the back yard recently (for flowers and some tomatos etc.) I kept thinking that people would appreciate food differently if they would have to work the fields with shovels instead of tractors doing it for them. It is pretty darn hard work. This particularly hit me when driving by some freshly plowed fields and then mentally extrapolating and comparing it in size with our mini garden.

I don't blame them- I don't enjoy working in the fields. I'd much rather be hunting, fishing or even shearing, but the fact is that there is a lot of money to be made out of ready-picked fresh fruit and hay (although of course we have the harvester for that).

If it wasn't for the fact that my family is a big one, we'd use Eastern Europeans like most farms in Scotland to help with the picking.
There'll be war, there'll be peace
But one day all things shall cease
All the iron turned to rust
All the proud men turned to dust
So all things time will mend
So this song will end

If I ever have to work the fields then I hope there's plenty of the smokable weed growning because that sure helps with physical labor.
