The way the world is going? yea

Not me, kiddo, I plan to live to at least 90. 100 would be better. :)

My grandmother's sister wished to make it to 100. She got to 99 and said 'screw it.'

I finished my 60th year today (11-3), so I guess I am now officially "old".

I'll be there with you in eight & a half more months.

Youth is in your mind & body. If I'm not healthier at 35 than I was at 25 I'll be disappointed.

30 was when I realized I would not be going into middle management & making zillions of dollars. Would not be getting married. The mansion with the concert hall wasn't going to happen. Would never be rich enough to own a house or retire, no matter how hard I worked. At that point, began spending all my money on gadgets instead of saving up for housing. Soccer moms started looking attractive.

The movies, TV shows, commercials, & presidential campaigns no longer revolve around you. You keep getting older, but all your neighbors are still 20. All your buddies split off into that other world, managing other people, raising kids, flipping houses, applying for HUD, cashing out home equity, buying $100,000 of stuff each year.

I happened to read your post while listening to Neil Young's "My My Hey Hey".

Its a matter of atitude dude. There are beach-front houses in Brazil for 30-40K. 2-3 roommates will cover your bills, food, coconuts, beer and a hole or two every month. At home, I could get 3 1 bedroom condos and a decent house in the village, with an acre of spectacular soil for the same amount of money.( well ,10 years ago I could ) That's a retirement. Perhaps you are better off doing what you do, but thats a retirement.
