OK so for some reason many of HOGANs threads now have titles of .. and his posts are all deleted by edit ( I asume the original poster does this him/herself.

Or was some rule I do not understand violated?

Is this just a case of picking up your marbles and going home?

Just wondering. Some of the threads were interesting and are now hard to find and will surely die.

I requested the same awhile back, but mine was due to paranoid delusions of the government monitoring me. I then remembered I am not important enough to track and if the government really wanted my posts, they could just un-delete them.

Hogan on the other hand is a little baby who is full of it. He ain't going anywhere. He will just create a new account and coninue posting.

I have to agree with him. Freedom of speech is fine but it has it's place on when and where.
Should a catholic priest let a wicken witch stand at his pulpit and speak in the name of free speech?
If a poster is shown to be putting out true disinformation, My opinion is they should be banned as a troll. If the information is correct then it is a debate, but a ford and a chevy man can debate till the end of time and both will say they are right.
Another example of diversity not working out.

I tend to think they should. But, they shouldn't be forced to.

Yep, always and everywhere.

That usually doesn't bode well with the congregation that came to hear a catholic priest to back up their catholic beliefs.
If they wanted to know about wicken ways I think they would have went to one of their gathering places instead.

Today I told somebody to...sexually congress in a delta v, which isn't usually my style, but having to scroll past endless drabs of drivel in the latest posts page is really cluttering up the 30 minutes or so I spend a day reading here.

SOP for me is to do a lot of skimming and scanning past, or if someone's really off base criticize what they're putting forth for its obvious weaknesses, hopefully with graphs and the like. Others will go for a flanking action, aren't we in concert bringing the Pollyanna perspective into the light here, hmm? This mass exodus from the site is unfortunate, Cash Rocc and DP especially.

And DON'T spend your whole day here! Pops is right on that score.

I haven't tried to hide who I was. I kept the same avatar so I would be recognized. Name change was solely due to changes it a state of mind and a state of things changing.

I used it in reference of the information on here. Valuable, Intresting, and Garbage.
New name is more about how things are progressing and will probably turn out in my opinion.

My point was I was not around and knew you were, I don't care about your handle.

Should you care to ask as to the reasons for any moderator action just PM anyone of us and we'll be happy to explain if it seems any of your business - PM me and I'll go find out what you probably already know and relay it back to you.

My point is free speech has it's place on when and where. You are of the belief free speech is fine anytime and everywhere and as you quoted here on this forum is a great place for it.
If that is true maybe I should start posting on here with questions on my rebuild of making a 383 stroker motor for my jeep. Removing the back drum brakes and installing disk brakes to the rear. Which lift kit do people recommend to run 35x15.5 tires.
This isn't the place for that kind of stuff. Which is why I am a member of a 4 wheel drive forum. The proper forums for the proper topics.
People that don't believe in peak oil have the freedom of speech to say what they believe I just think they ought to say it where people want to hear it. Let them chat it up at peak oil debunked or trendlines or some other website devoted for denialist. I just wonder why on a peak oil forum I have to listen to crap from the peak oil denialist time and time again.

I would and have defended the right of anyone to put forth any argument here related to PO.

This is not an echo chamber, if you only care to hear from those who believe exactly like you I bet you can find such a site.

However, this is a site devoted to "Exploring the issue of hydrocarbon depletion".

See the difference?

Yes I can see the difference lets see if I can put it another way. I'm not looking for an echo chamber.
If you are in a group exploring the issue of hydrocarbon depletion, everyone has to agree first that there is hydrocarbon depletion. How can you have an in depth discussion on the issues of depletion when you constantly have to stop to defend the very issue of depletion to people who say there is no depletion.
Catching my drift ?
There has to be a common core denominator that everyone agrees on.

If I may pipe in here... everyone but the flat out insane believes in hydrocarbon depletion. It's just that some think (for whatever reason) that it's something in the far distant future and won't adversely impact humanity in its insatiable quest for consumption.

The common denominator is all of us. Everyone. That's the beauty of this place.

I see your point.

I agree, one grows impatient of such stuff after a time.

So leave debate of the basics to others.

Then concentrate on what is next.
