Some sort of internship, work-exchange or low-cost training of some sort? I know of organicvolunteers.com, was wondering if anyone knew any other similar sites. Or better yet had personal experience with something going on.

Check out MOFGA's internship program. They place people on organic farms all over Maine.

Even working at an "organic" farm involves tractors, plastics, and electricity.

It's too bad you weren't here yesterday. We strung another 400 feet of mainline on our maple lot and could have used another hand. We were ankle deep in mud, struggling with the tubing and the wire.

That's what we do for fun around here.

I think it's sustainable. We are using hydrocarbons (plastic tubing) to get carbohydrates (maple sap) down the hill.

We burn wood to make the syrup.

As long as the trees keep growing we can make maple syrup.
