Stick a fork in it
This side is crisp already
Lets torch the other

Election hype peaks
Obama's charisma sweeps
Plantagenet weeps

Fark this swearing rule
I hate it. Swearing is great
you puritan farks

In a dank bunker
Rocc impatiently awaits
Doom-what's the holdup?

Heavenly father-
please sir, can we have some more?
Go ask your mother

Lately the money
seems tight. Or is it just me?

The planet is heating up
Let's watch Milf Island

Structured form is grand
Thank our Japanese friends for
inventing this style

A sonnet is grand. Love of language has been poured into it. But haiku is so terse.

Well, if you respect it, the first thing you do is follow it. 5-7-6 is not allowed. Now you must commit to seppuku

Very nicely done.

I seem to remember from my last college lit class (not as long ago as you'd think), that haiku is not rigid, as long as you keep to the ideal. Number of syllables doesn't mean there's no flexibility in the haiku rhythm. I composed haiku with differing syllabic lines, in order to point that out in a class. I'm not up on my lit these days, but I'm sure the internet knows all about it.
