Damien Jasper, I reread your post today and am willing to bet dollars to donuts, you're not in your twenties, don't have brother etc... It reads as if it's contrived, to me. Sorry. Maybe you're for real, if so you have my heartfelt good wishes. If you're not for real, you've started an interesting thread.

Authentic?

Unread postby EnviroEngr » Sat 26 Mar 2005, 22:19:19

Threadbear,

That's awesome perception. I had an unmistakable flash this afternoon (oh, about 4 hours ago) from The Princess Bride of the Dread Pirate Roberts saying to Westley, "Good night, Westley. Good work. Sleep well. I'll most likely kill you in the morning."

As Buttercup is quizzing the Farm Boy turned Pirate, we come to find out the Dread Pirate Roberts is a long line of recruit converts. That the pirate navigating her through the Fire Swamp is not the DPR; he is, in fact, her Love. The Dread Pirate Roberts never offed anybody.

Sounds rather like what we've got here.

But, what the heck. It's merely an intuition. Perhaps a bit of bread I had this morning throwing a curve to the head or a chimera of the imagination.

Is it possible we've cooked up a character to play a 'ghost role' in this, our Theatre?

I don't know what led you to that conclusion. My name is Marc and I live in Pocatello Idaho. I turned 21 in December. My brother's name is Chris and he too is 21. Why you think I would be faking this is beyond comprehension to me. But I just keep falling and falling and falling futher into despair.

Once again I cursed myself for waking up this morning.

For me the trend went like this: 1)Ignorance --> 2)Curiosity --> 3)Entertainment --> 4)Concern --> 5)Panic -->6)Dispair -->7)Depression (bordering on suicidal) --> 8)Concern --> 9)Apathy --> 10)Preperation for TSHTF

You appear to be now at stage 7. It will end, so long as you do not end your life.

Yeah, but they're gonna draft. What's to live for anyway? I'd like control of my own destiny.

So you can be one of those crotchety old coots reminiscing about the "Good Old Days" when it was possible to travel 100 miles in less than 2 hours in a magical thing called an "automobile" which was basically a horseless carriage with the power of many horses under the front end of the "automobile". You can also tell future generations about how society once had become so advanced that you could speak to people over 6,000 miles away as easily as if they were standing next to you. You can absolutely astonish the young whippersnappers when you tell them that we used to be able to turn midnight as bright as noon with just the flick of a switch, and re-heat food in less than 10 minutes using this wonderful invention called a "microwave". If they think that is strange, just wait until you tell them that man set foot upon the moon in 1969!

That is one reason to live right there, so the young whippersnappers think you are a crazy old coot, but you are in fact perfectly sane. :-D Sounds like fun to me anyways! :)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('DamienJasper', 'I')'d like control of my own destiny.

You do, don't step across the line, do not sign on the dotted line, do not take the oath, read and learn the constitution, wrap your self in it when the times when you will need to.

13th amendment:
Section 1. Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Section 2. Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

Become informed of what your Rights and Responsibilities are, and where they end.

Who wouldn’t?

But that’s the crux of the issue. You cannot see a way of perfect pleasure in your life so you want to end it. Your own selfish desires cause you to want to hurt the very animal that creates you. What utter nonsense!!! *grin*

You want to give meaning to something that has none, and that causes you anguish. Think deeper into the nature of your problem.

I sent you a PM about it, check for them at the top of this page.

If you really are who you say you are,
and you really feel how you say you feel then my sympathies. Feels pretty shitty.

At the same time, familiy is what you live for - no matter what times you live in. You're not a Jew in Hitler's Germany. You're not an Indian at Wounded Knee. You're not a slave black watching your family being sold off and/or beaten, while you stand helpless by. You're not a starving Okie in the dustbowl. Your reason to live is your brother - you've already got more than a lot of people to live for. And in the most affluent of times. Hard to feel sympathy for someone so well off.

Further, if you really are suffering the way you say, do you really expect to get much useful help from these ppl? Ppl who are excitedly waiting for the deaths of 4 billion ppl so happy mother earth can be free of her virus once again? You would probably get more support on the Nazi forum the Indian kid spent time on. If you're willing to bring it here, then go ahead and take it to a doc. Or a priest. Or whatever works for you.

Have you ever known happiness before? If you have been happy before then you can be happy again. Just wait for this to pass and protect your brother's heart from the pain your suicide would cause him.

Keyword there is "if" DJ, there is every chance there will be no draft whatsoever. What are they gonna power and feed this war machine with? Oil? Not at the rate it's rising in price. No one can predict the future, you can prepare for it though. Think of the future you want, and try to make it happen. (And no, that doesn't mean go commit suicide coz the future you want is death. You'll die eventually anyway, we all will, so why not let whatever God you believe in be the judge of when you should die).
We've tried nothin' and we're all out of ideas.

Nobody knows the reality of how things will turn out. Around these types of forums are people who gravitate to the subject and dwell on it because of their fear of the uncerainty.
There will always be jobs. Hands will eventually have to do the work of machines, especially farming. If you stockpile silver now, and own land, maybe you'll be the boss and not have to lift a finger in the feild, just hand out dimes at the end of the day. :) Thats my plan for retirement.
If i get drafted i'm not going so thats a non issue.

I think maybe you were right, threadbear and EE. This is not a despondent person, it's a silly one (or maybe some banned person who got himself a new ISP)

You should be happy that you know about PO. You know what's coming. Less than 1 percent of the world's population know what's coming. Congratulations. You know what to prepare for.

And don't ever believe there is no hope. There's plenty of hope. We could figure out fusion soon, we could stumble upon some superpowerful energy source, aliens could find us and give us their advanced technology, and OPEC could have been lying all along about their reserves, just to get lots and lots of money.

And obviously there is no chance in hell (except maybe fusion) that any of these things will happen. But there is the small, small chance that they could happen. Stick with that.

Oh, and make a plan for the future. You'll feel better. Worked for me.
