As to the religion argument, do you pray for grace for the folks who preceded you who you don't remember or were never told of?
I don't claim to know the mind of God but I will say that here in this life, it is what you do that lives on with those who come after.
About the best we can strive for is to do things which leave a good and lasting memory I'm thinking.
