Aganami,

Totally off topic, but when you think in your mind, I call it the narrative, is that thought occurring in your brain or somewhere else? I read somewhere that because your brain is part of the nervous system so it could be occurring in your spine.

As far as zen goes, I do meditate quite often. I know self hypnosis and do this weird rocking back and forth to music thing. with the rocking i completely tune out and go to "Kristen Land." I've also done sensory deprivation and eye movement stuff.

Also what is time? it can be measured, but can it be obtained?

Thanks. I think I will get some rest. I really am not that bummed out today, but this past week I have been in a funk.

I find that I need to do something creative to dispel the darkness.

I am starting on a painting. That usually cheers me up.

A painting sounds nice, for me its story writing. I've decided to try and write a peak oil story, but I'm not sure which angle to take at it. I wrote one post peak story about the last lighted city up in the mountains. It took place in the year 2300 and my main characters work at a junkyard mining whatever left they can find. They are afraid of the lighted city because whenever a villager tries to explore it, they end up dead with a warning. Then suddenly all the children start to go missing and a group of villagers must face up to the horrors of the lighted city.

Your story sounds a little like the City of Ember, Kristin. They just made a movie of it. I haven't seen it yet, but it is a heck of a metaphor for what's going on with our culture.

I think creative activity is a way to make hope.

Well I hope I'm not too late with my idea. It turns out the members of the last city are feeding the children to this demon that keeps the energy going. Is that the conclusion of city of ember?

No, in the City of Ember they all live underground and have for 200 years. They are under there to survive a nuclear holocaust, and the lights are run by hydroelectricity. The lights begin to go out, and the food begins to run out. The people of Ember have to figure something else out.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Revi', 'Y')our story sounds a little like the City of Ember, Kristin. They just made a movie of it. I haven't seen it yet, but it is a heck of a metaphor for what's going on with our culture.

Saw the movie a few days ago. Entertaining. A pot bellied inner clique gets the best of the rationed food as century-old canned stocks dwindle. Don't want to spoil the (limited) plot and ending, but I would wait until you can see it free.

Haven't read the book, but my daughter who saw it with me did read the book and she said the movie was disappointing and deviated a lot from the book.

The book is great. Something everybody can read. I read it, my kid read it. You can't put it down.

Too bad the movie didn't live up to the book. I'll go see it anyway.

Well antagani, it is fiction, so anything can happen.

As far as the music thing goes, I don't use a visualizer. I basically curl up in a fetal position on my left size, find a song that is powerful and gives me goosebumps. Then I just sway back and forth to the song with my eyes closed while I daydream. Each song has a certain set of memories stored in it from this.

The song I've been revisiting is this one: link

I'm going through a break up and this song reminds me of him. It takes me back to our summer love.

Fine Revi. If you really must watch it, go at noon and pay two bucks. Sneak in your own can of pop.
