$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('AlexdeLarge', '

Explain? I voted early. On traditional election day, my name will be marked as "already voted" at my polling place. The problem is what again?

RICO Suit filed against ACORN

"cites an accumulation of evidence showing numerous instances of admitted fraud by ACORN employees, as well as individuals solicited by ACORN. In addition, the complaint cites conduct by ACORN in Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin."

This is my first post here at Peak Oil, I'm glad to meet you all and have benifited greatly from the ideas shared on this forum. For that I thank you!

To this point, what’s happening with the ACORN issue is a registration problem and not a voter fraud problem. ACORN made a mistake by giving rewards out for getting people registered to vote. So with that opportunity given to poor folk, registration fraud began. Making a point about ACORN's registration fraud under a thread labeled "Should FEC Begin Probe of Voter Fraud?" is SPIN and should be considered misleading.

Well... I was hoping you would enlighten me. If I'm wrong, it would not be the first time. How does registration fraud equate to voter fraud? Unless folks rise from the dead to vote Obama sometime soon, I'm not getting it.

To use another criminal analogy......How does conspiracy to commit murder relate to murder?

That is why the RICO suit was filed. There is evidence to sue under RICO that there is a conspiracy to commit voter fraud.

Thanks Alex. I see that there is an opportunity for correlation here between registation fraud and voter fraud but I believe the underlying evil here is not a voter fraud conspiracy but simply an opportunity for some poor folk to make rewards with fraudulent registation signatures and now the story is being spun as voter fraud to garner McCain support.

Your welcome. But I respectfully disagree that ACORN was simply out to register voters with no bias.

The ties between ACORN and Obama run deep. From the time he was lead attorney for ACORN in Chicago where he helped train activists for the group. Where ACORN also used heavy handed methods to extort banks to make subprime loans. (They went as far as storming board rooms and going to the homes of the boards of directors and scaring their families and children.) To current donations made by the Obama campaign to ACORN.

ACORN has been nothing more than another arm of the Obama campaign. This should be concern of every American.

Barack was never an ACORN community organizer. ACORN never hired Obama as a trainer, organizer, or any type of employee. ACORN was not part of Project Vote, the successful voter registration drive Barack ran in 1992. And sure there is bias as far as thier registration inititive goes, have you seen the ACORN community? Most of them are minorities so they are going to attract other minorities - naturally. It would be unamerican to deny them the ability to rally for thier own intrests which is excacly what some folks would love to see happen.

Is the American way only good for us when convienient?

"A goldfish's lifetime ago, Sen. John McCain was happy to accept the honors and acclamation of the Service Employees International Union, People for the American Way, UNITE HERE -- and ACORN. Here he is, on Feb. 20, 2006, telling immigration rights activists at a rally in Miami that they "are what makes America special." ACORN co-sponsored the rally, and its volunteers surround McCain, and while there's no evidence that McCain ever formally teamed with the group, the video serves as a reminder that he did not mind being associated with them when the politics of the moment were different. I've already met somene here in North Carolina that chose not to get out in our weather today, she stated she had already voted for Obama 3 times! Yep, the vote will be stolen. Biden has stated the clearest however, Obama is unprepared and he will be tested. Would not want to live near a large city.

Voted 3 times ??
How does one do that ??

In my district, you go to a table that is organized by
street name; You tell them who you are and what street
you live on; next you show some form of photo ID; If your
name is on the list and your photo ID is current, then you
get to vote and your name is crossed off the list to indicate
that you have voted ... If not, you're asked to leave ...

The US voting system is really difficult and outdated.
Even counting votes seems to be a problem.
Why not just do it all on paper and count with volunteers?
I guess it has method, like this, especially with machines it is easy to manipulate and the average J6P is unable to understand.
This is one of the things Obama should tidy up, but his list is long.
