Only recent example I can think of when terroism wasn't freedom fighting was france bombing GreenPeace boats in Auckland in '85.

Otherwise most things are either black ops or actual freedom fighting. Like Saudi's trying to destabilise a puppet government.

Nelson Mandela was also sentenced on terrorist charges.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')errorist Elected President Of South Africa

Most great leaders in the history of modern politics have at one time in their careers been labelled "terrorist" or "tyrant" by the U.S. or Britain (Gandhi, Lumumba, Castro, Ho Chi Minh, Mao, Allende, Mandela, Chavez, etc...).

Most world leaders now take it as a compliment when the U.S. calls them names.

IF one thing I owe hugo, is his ability to recognise or his sense of smell to detect his alikes, no matter how FARC ( or closeby ), they might be at.

My hat off ....., huguito!! [smilie=notworthy.gif]

It is very easy to observe that M.O. yet sitting down in the recliner, a martini handy and watching whatever manipulated information you get, from those "leaders" out in 42 inches HD tv sets, surround stereo blasting up. And it is even easier to reject away those frequent labellers, being inside either one of them, too. I would´d have done the same.

As I see it, the problem really starts when the people of the country that virtual "leader" is tagged as any of such (or both inclusively), entirely agree with those adjective assigned to describe ´em out, by any one of those frequent "labellers".

Africa boom amidst global gloom

Unread postby lorenzo » Tue 14 Oct 2008, 14:40:46

Africa surely is the continent of the future. It's where you have to be in 2010, just like China was the place to be in 1990.

CNN has this cute video:

Africa booming amid world gloom
http://edition.cnn.com/video/#/video/in ... .gloom.cnn

To all young Europeans willing to have a life: leave the geriatric continent, and go South. Happiness can be found under a stone in Africa.

Good luck, meet you there.

Word of advice.

Quit listening to Fox's propaganda. It's owned by an old white Australian b'stard with a colonial axe to grind and well past his sell by date. Look to the future when we are rid of these old b'stards and the world's ours for the living.

Let´s see some facts:
-A child dies every three seconds from AIDS and extreme poverty, often before their fifth birthday.
-More than one billion people do not have access to clean water.
-Every year six million children die from malnutrition before their fifth birthday.
-More than 50 percent of Africans suffer from water-related diseases such as cholera and infant diarrhea.
-More than 800 million people go to bed hungry every day, 300 million are children.
-Of these 300 million children, only eight percent are victims of famine or other emergency situations. More than 90 percent are suffering long-term malnourishment and micronutrient deficiency.
200,000 child slaves are sold every year in Africa. There are an estimated 8,000 girl-slaves in West Africa alone. (sources: BBC 5 October, 2001 & Anti-Slavery Society)
-About 120,000 African children are participating in armed conflicts. Some are as young as 7 years old. (source: Africa Children’s Charter)
- Children account for half of all civilian casualties in wars in Africa. (source: Africa 2015)
-One in six African children dies before the age of five. Most of these deaths could be prevented. (source: Africa 2015)
- Nearly one third of children in Sub-Saharan Africa are underweight. (source: UNICEF)
- In sub-Saharan Africa, measles takes the life of a child nearly every minute of every day. An effective measles vaccine costs as little as $1 per child. (source: UNICEF)
- Between 12 and 14 million African children have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS. (source: World Bank/UNICEF)
-Nearly 2 million children under 14 years old are HIV positive. (source: UNICEF)
- 43% of children in Sub-Saharan Africa do not have safe, accessible drinking water. (source: UNICEF)
- 64% of children in Sub-Saharan Africa do not have adequate sanitation. (source: UNICEF)

I've actually been there before and done further research planning future trips. The fact that anyone could think Africa is the place to be is lunacy, in my opnion.

If Africa couldn't boom during the last hundred years or so, themost prosperous era in all of human history, then it certainly won't boom in the future.

I really don't see how that can be the case, There is horrific ecosystem damage in large parts of Africa. Many African animals are endangered.

Dude, you are obviously trapped. Bad luck. You weren't in China in 1990 because your sources told you it's one big miserable begging bowl there.

Likewise, you won't be in Africa in 2010, because you're still stuck in the baseless, vile propaganda about the continent.

Bad for you. You *do* have the means to get a grip, though. The internet is a start. But you have to be willing to do a little search (like two mouseclicks to reality).

What do you think?

I'm the only one out of 200 people on this board who predicted oil to decline to under $80 before the end of the year.

In case you didn't know, I'm the materialisation and incarnation of Reason itself.

So please don't make yourself look ridiculous again by questioning my sense of reality. You have been warned. By Reason itself, no less. :)

Zambia is high on the list, for sure. Not only is it a beautiful country, it's also going to be one of the big boomer economies.

Huge potential in minerals, agriculture, ecosystem services and carbon banking, tourism, housing, infrastructure, energy... You name it.

Stable government, good tax regime, lot of investment flexibility, motivated work force, ... all you need.
