$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PenultimateManStanding', 'C')orrect me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that the Mafia would only be after people who owe the Mafia money. No?

They can collect for a comission . Overall i dont understand all this scarecrowing about organized crime. How are they different from any state organization? less hipocrisy and less taxes.

Um, you certainly are naive. Organized crime is just organized slavery.
The way it works, is, they use you while yo are useful, and after you have learned too much they arrange you to be killed so you can never be a witness and then they recruit other naive people. This is why you never see any black ops retired people, very rare unless they are power people. after a few dangerous missions they all end up dead. never any witnesses of what they do
You think living under them would be nice? it could be if yo are an immoral pervert who will kill on command, but even then within months you will be removed becaue you know too much.
No, they are not good people.

Did you ever see the movie called "THREADS" made in 1984 by the BBC? I have no idea who financed it but they certainly don't want anyone to see it now, it is hard to come by. Somone should put it on you tube. But that shows, only three days after war, the police and mayor and all the power people shutting down towns and keeping all canned goods for themselves. Anyone caught eating the foot was shot as a looter or driven from town. The police will be your worst enemy.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Ainan', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('UncoveringTruths', 'H')ad the wife pull the plug on the money market account today. Enough to cover bills for a couple of months and mitigate a bank holiday.

Did she notice it was quiet? It was dead quiet here this evening, no one at the bank. Then I went to the supermarket to stockup a little more, it was far quieter than normal. I couldn't help but feel it was the quiet before the storm.

here in Burnet Texas the supermarket where I work has been packed for the last ten days, record sales. Its uncanny. and prices have jumped WAY up; can of Spam went from 1.99 to 2.49; my cheap sh&t coffee I buy (because its 4.99 a pound when all the other brands are 8.99) went to 5.26. The supermarket run before the run?

Over here there seems to be a run of safes lately according to todays newspaper.
The wife is at the bank today.I agree ,no point waiting until the last minute.
All day yesterday the minister of Finance kept saying how the government guarantees all deposits for at least three more years.
When I heard that, that was it,we went into overdrive.
When a Greek diplomat says youve got a 3 year guarantee, you know youre fucked .
This is the Balkans .When TSF over here,it becomes the dark ages.
And I dont think its very far off.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('gampy', 'H')mmmmm, I am thinking of withdrawing all of my, let's see...

*checks bank balance on line*

$48.56

Lol, I am not to worried about my bank account, I am more worried that my employer's cheques will bounce.

When employees start demanding cold hard cash in pay packets....start worrying.

Speaking of which, does anyone remember getting paid in cash?

I used to get the pay packet from certain jobs in my teens and 20's.

I thought it was the best thing ever. No teller line ups on Friday afternoon, just straight to the local tavern.

Good times.

I am almost the last employee at where I work to pick up and cash a paycheck at the same time. (grocery store). They made it mandatory for all new hires to have direct deposit four years ago....
