Never thought of BAU as strolling through Castle Wolfenstein before, good one!
I sometimes do business with Evil Fred too, listen to Matt Simmons interviews on my iPod for that true feeling of the surreal. Throw one wrench into the works, flickering lights, no cabbages, limits on customer purchases...
Before I caught onto peak oil I was driving friends up I5, gridlocked traffic, and I just blurted out "This just can't go on, you know." Little over 8 years ago. Didn't have a reason, it was just insane to let it go on piling on car after car after car, the vaunted light rail lines Portland built didn't seem to stop it one bit.
Tommorow eastbay and I (and thuja? Ian? Others?) will have our get together downtown in the big bookstore. That should be altogether Twilight Zone, muttering on about supply/demand imbalances and overshoot while people read JK Rowling and sip lattes.
Cogito, ergo non satis bibivi
And let me tell you something: I dig your work.
