I didn't hear either...too much going on. One of my favorite floyd tunes: time

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but youre older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought Id something more to say

Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
Its good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.
Stop filling dumpsters, as much as you possibly can, and everything will get better.

Just think it through.
It's not hard to do.

I like em all. FYI: Pulse (The concert) was re-mastered a few years back into a very nice DVD.

Agree. DSOTM has a special place for me though as it came out right when I was a sophomore in HS. Ran the grooves right off of one copy in my basement party room while . . . never mind!

I met him once, when I was younger, and he was in his heyday. He was in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, filming the movie "Slapshot". We were coming back from an Eastertime vacation from Washington, DC, during the Bicentennial celebrations (1975-76).
My father wanted to stop off in Johnstown, as he had a cousin he hadn't seen in years, so we chose the downtown Holiday Inn. Nice pool, one of the nicer Holiday Inn's we stayed at, almost like a "Hilton" for it's time. It was 4 months old.

Well, my father checks us in, and I went around the back to help bring up some of our luggage, and go back to the service elevator. As I am waiting for the doors to open, out comes a man with the bluest eyes I had ever seen outside of my own father! My mouth drops open (I was 16 at the time) and I blurt out "What are YOU doing here!?" (like I know him and expecting an answer..lol) He just chuckled and helped me on the elevator (as I had dropped all the luggage) and mentioned that they were filming a film in town. He was on his way to check out the pool.

My father had heard something like that in the front, as he was talking to some of the staff. It was only a minute or two, but he was very gracious to a smitten and incredulous young girl who must have reminded him of some stages his own daughters went through.

In short, he was a gentleman.

At a later date, he came to town, as he and Tom Cruise filmed "The Color of Money" at one of our local watering holes "Fitzgeralds" filmed in Berwyn, IL (suburb of Chicago).

One of my "brushes with greatness."

Cool Blu. My oldest brother once gave John Wayne a light for his cigarette. My eldest daughter met the The Lord Of The Rings Peter Jackson when she worked security at the Academy Awards backstage.

A lot of people really adored Newman. I didn't know much about him.

Iranians mourn Newman's passing.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')EHRAN, Iran (AP) - Iranians mourned Paul Newman on Sunday in a rare instance of adoration of cinema trumping ideological and political differences.

In an unusual move, even a major state newspaper, IRAN, ran a front-page story about Newman's death. Government dailies traditionally trumpet the Islamic Republic's staunch anti-American stance and rarely cover American pop culture.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'N')ewman, who died Friday at 83 of cancer, became popular among Iranians in the era before the 1979 Iranian Revolution, when his movies «Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,» «The Towering Inferno» and «Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid» played in Iranian theaters.

Ever see him in Cool Hand Luke? Brilliant performance of a charismatic loser who defies Authority. He was about to die and he gets into this poignant discussion with God full of resigned anger and recriminations with the Old Man In The Sky. I'm sure the Iranians and people around the world loved Newman.

animals is one of the best records of all time( not to take anything away from the other Floyd records) the imagery and music unparalleled.

Sheep

Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away;
Only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air.
You better watch out,
There may be dogs about
Ive looked over jordan, and I have seen
Things are not what they seem.

What do you get for pretending the dangers not real.
Meek and obedient you follow the leader
Down well trodden corridors into the valley of steel.

What a surprise!
A look of terminal shock in your eyes.
Now things are really what they seem.
No, this is no bad dream.

The lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
He makes me down to lie
Through pastures green he leadeth me the silent waters by.
With bright knives he releaseth my soul.
He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places.
He converteth me to lamb cutlets,
For lo, he hath great power, and great hunger.
When cometh the day we lowly ones,
Through quiet reflection, and great dedication
Master the art of karate,
Lo, we shall rise up,
And then well make the buggers eyes water.

Bleating and babbling I fell on his neck with a scream.
Wave upon wave of demented avengers
March cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream.

Have you heard the news?
The dogs are dead!
You better stay home
And do as youre told.
Get out of the road if you want to grow old.

Some of the best lyrics ever.
Perhaps the population would be less swayed to socialism if we had fewer examples of socialism from our "Free Market Capitalists". -----fiddler dave

Here he is at the start.

Careful With That Axe Eugene

As a kid I liked this one best as I favor contemplative stuff:

Grantchester Meadows

What they left out of the video was the guy walking noisily across the floor and swatting that fly at the end.
