I am baffled at thsoe who claimn the debasement of the U.S. dollar is logical start point to adopt this new currency called the "Amero". If the U.S. dollar became toilet paper, then the Amero would just be a variation, as about 80% of the combined GDP is that of the United States in the "amero" scenario.

And, if the U.S. economy was to sputter and then totally tank, why would Mexico and Canada want to share in the misery at all? The euro was born out of a large amount of economic success by the individual countries involved.
