Dearest peakers,

You have been studying the movements of our modern society and you've always kept a very vigilant eye upon the world oil supply, the oil industry, geopolitics etc.

O friends, what have you learned?

Haven't you learned that nothing in this illusory, deceptive and imaginary world is lasts forever? Haven't you learned that everything is but a fleeting dream? Haven't you developped the slightest bit of dispassion and disgust for this world?

O friends, look around you- behold how the ignorant go hither and thither to cement their lives with pleasures of all kinds. See how they are constantly pouring down energy to preserve their time of "happiness". See how they fall. See how they suffer. See how they sadly wail and lament.

Verily, they do not know what Happiness is. The "happiness" they seem to taste is nothing but a reflection of the True Happiness you can have this very instant.

This world is a bubble for two seconds, it has nothing to give. Look beyond. Close your eyes right now, good friend, and look beyond. Gaze upon the Eternity. Destroy your superficiality. Cut asunder the ropes of bondage and contemple the Reality of Time and Space.

Isn't this whole thing but a silly passing? Isn't this but a stepping stone in the constant evolution of the Universe? Isn't this world like the mist of dew on the grass? Isn't this world like the pink glow of the sunrise? Isn't this world like the passing of a fluffy cloud in the summer sky?

Yes, there is suffering. This entire world is suffering.

However,
There is happiness. There is joy. There is bliss. There is peace. "Where can I find this Happiness, this joy, this bliss" you ask? Look within. Only within. You will find no other answer.

Do you fear the future? Do you fear your family will suffer? Do you fear of what will become of your country? Do you fear of what will become of this world when all cultures and civilisation will be put to the Ultimate test? Do you fear the hearts of men? Do you fear the evil that may cause suffering? Do you fear that you won't be able to enjoy anything? Do you fear death?

Fear not, O friend! Introspect! Enquire! Look at Fear straight into it's eyes! What is fear? Isn't it but a vain and puny sensation that makes the body and mind tremble?

Do no look away- you are invincible. You are Eternal and Immortal Atman. You are omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent Consciousness! You have lost this knowledge long ago- this Brahma Jnana has fled your mind- you created bondaries for yourself. This is due to ignorance. But you can bring it back! It is never too late. You are not doomed. Fear not good friend, you are not doomed.

Keep this knowledge in mind and your will be able to conquer and vanquish anything. You will fear nothing. Do not fear those who can kill the body- do not hate them neither. Due to their ignorance, they suffer greatly. They are torchured by their Inner demons everyday. They do not know what they are doing.

You will not live forever. Your body will not render glory forever; there is old age and disease yet to come. Your family will not be with you always. Your possessions will not follow you after your death. Only your benevolent actions will reap fruits beyond this life.

Remove the knot of the heart which is ignorance. See things as they really are. This way, you will not tremble before anything.

Don't fret my friend, this world event of Peak Oil was bound to happen. This was promised by many sages and prophets in the past- but that doesn't matter. Peak Oil doesn't matter. What matters is the Happiness of humanity. What matters is peace. What matters is virtue. What matters is morality.

We have entered Kali-Yuga (Age of Kali or the Iron Age) a long time ago but now, very soon, after this transition, we will enter Satya-Yuga (Age of Satya or Golden Age). This transition will be a painful process...

...But what is pain? Introspect. Enquire. You shall see.

Dearest friends, when you will see the world oil production drop, what will you do? When this civilisation will fail and fall to it's knees, what will you do?

When this entire world disappears before your eyes at the moment of death, what will you do?

Thus, this is what you must know. You have two choices now. Reject, or accept. You have free will. You have the freedom of choice between death or life, despair or hope, sorrow or joy, suffering or joy.

Om Tat Twam Asi. You are Divine.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti. Peace peace peace.

May you all find Happiness and may you be well!

Is there any fundamental difference between the above post and "rapture will come" that I'm not getting?

Yes, doly, a big difference. The rapture believer puts god outside and seperate from himself.
If i'm understanding, the above post finds god within.

Other than this significant distinction, no, not much difference.

Good stuff, and very wise (if perhaps a little bewildering to the casual observer).

Thanks for reminding me of the greater truth beyond the fear driving this planet and offering an alternative point of view. Just like it was difficult for most people to dump their old paradigms of the world when they accepted Peak Oil, understand that it will take time (in fact many lifetimes) for most people to come to an understanding of the greater reality you speak of.

When new information that doesn't click with someone's worldview is presented (Peak Oil, spiritual or otherwise) a person has two choices: 1) invalidate the information 2) accept that it might be true. The first choice keeps us stuck but maintains our immediate comfort. The second choice leads to changing our reality map, which can often be quite painful. People tend to seek comfort and avoid pain. This is the essential dynamic of the human/spiritual condition.

What is Peak Oil to one person is scaremongering to another.

What is spiritual truth to one person is cult-speak to another.

The key is keeping our minds (not to mention our hearts) open long enough to receive new information and assimilate new experiences.
