New Site Launched: What Is Peak Oil?.com

Unread postby tribalzendancer » Fri 26 Sep 2008, 01:24:02

I created this little micro-site with a friend of mine this week to help spread awareness of the issue:

What Is Peak Oil?.com

It features a list of the best educational films on peak oil viewable online.

I also linked to some personal "bests" near the bottom, including this site for "best discussion forum".

We got this up in just a few hours. I might work on putting a little splash of color at the top, some sort of design or image. I'm also looking for a better quote to put at the top.

Any ideas? Whattda think?

Would definitely love input to help shape the concept and make any improvements. I'm hoping it will make a useful resource to raise awareness of the issue.

Cheers, Tim

Massive Human Dieoff must occur as a result of Peak Oil. Many more than half will die. It will occur everywhere, including where you live. If you fail to recognize this, then your odds of living move toward the "going to die" group.

Good work, Tim.

At a minimum, I would add some of the classic Matt Simmons presentations.

Aren't End of Suburbia and the like copyrighted? But there it is on YouTube.

Plenty of pickings on Global Public Media. Glad that we're best forum but Oil Drum is best blog. The two complement each other well. LATOC has excellent stuff as well, but I prefer it here. Sort of like revolver vs automatic, or beer vs. scotch... :-D

Sweet site!

As a teacher, I appreciate the video presentations (not that I'll show them, but it's always an attention grabber), and the link to teacher resources.

Thanks everyone. I'm glad you all dig the site.

I'll be sure to keep adding new videos as I find them. If people click on the "most recently added" link near the top it will display the newest videos.

Cheers.

Let me know if you guys know of any good ways to spread the word about the site.

Thanks, bookmarked. Some organization (a sidebar categorizing videos by type) would be a good idea. :)

Hey thanks everyone. I'll add a more clearly labeled "sort by" section, as you recommended. There is a sort by "type" feature at the top but it's probably not clear enough.

Also thanks for the slide presentation link. I'll add it.

If anyone here uses Digg.com I added a ticker to the site so people can digg the website and help spread the word.
