Increase the gas tax to $4 / gal; index to inflation at year 5.

Reduce all, and I mean *all* federal payments to individuals by 5%, and forgo all COLAs for the next five years.

Index federal support of Amtrak to a completion goal of providing a percapita equivalent seat-miles/wk in every state. Fairs set strictly on a miles traveled basis.

Increase federal spending for medium distance public transport (50 - 150 mile trips) to match the spending for short distance public transport.

Increase military spending by 50%, direct combat support (ammo, equip, troops), not museum of Senator Doug's Favorite Artillery Round.

Increase overseas presence by 25%, and construct and deploy two additional carrier battlegroups with full sub escorts.
Yes, we are. As we are.
And so shall we remain; Until the end.

*Cut military expenditures by 75%
*Institute a large scale wind, solar, hydro program.
*Begin building breeder reactors. (I find nukes distasteful)
*Move from oil based agriculture to methods that requires less oil consumption.
*Population growth should be curbed with financial incentives. (Are there any tasteful ways of broaching this subject? I'm glad I'm not in charge!)
*Education needs to be reformed. Higher education, Imo, should be financially easier to attain for those that want it.
Finally, I would force the various bickering sections of government to work together for a change.
