$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I') know sking is not good for oil or the environment , but I'm good the rest of the time!

Cross-country skiing, done from walking to your closest golf-course, or from a resort that you travel tp by electric train (powered with hydro and wind) - I can not see that that would cause any environmental problem.

In any case, my Stockholm skiing seasons are getting shorter.

And this winter, so far, has been exceptionally warm.

Hi

Here in Finland there are about 40 or so canceled or postponed ski competitions around the country, most in the western/southern parts.

There seems to be some difficulty in finding free weekends for those postponed ones.

There was some snow in southern parts in November, but that melted away - it's snowing just now where I am but weather will probably get above freezing towards the end of the week so it might happen that we get another January with very little snow...

a few years ago it rained a freezing rain all night and the roads had about one inch clear ice. W ice skated around the neighborhood on the roads, it was about a2 mile loop. The neighbors all came out to watch the kids go by.

You see --- Thats why we really need those pick up trucks!
It will be a sad day when us rednecks have to stay at home on the porch watching the bug zapper - oh wait, that will be gone too. Noooooo!
