If it were a hybrid with batteries covering the entire floorplan it might work, kind of like the Tango. It doesn't look stable, but it is, because of the massive counterweight.

getting off topic but posting pics is fun
Behold the "Bi-articulated bus" or double bendy bus!
I think buses like these will be put to greater use in a PO world.
In a financially starved world I can only imagine the absolute MOST heavily traveled routes being awarded a "grade-separated" rail line.
