It has been said before, but peak oil awareness isn't necessarily such a blessing; given there's not much that can be done in the short-term, barring a radical reduction in lifestyle- "not negotiable."
For example, as more and more people learn about PO, my ability to capitalize on otherwise "unforeseen" coming events diminishes. (Too bad I don't have the capital to capitalize with.)
We know the major TV media are loathe to cover a story which calls into question the very fundamentals (rampant consumption) of the society they advocate. So the Great Unwashed Tards are still probably at least a couple years from getting this information.
Also, I 'm keen to have my dumbass countrymen be caught completely off-guard by any untoward future events in the oil realm, so as to suffer maximum losses. They deserve to pay for their extreme ignorance and gluttony.
I envision a time, 10 years down the road, when the shit has hit the fan, and most people sorta understand why, or are at least familiar with 'peak oil. ' What will I say to people?...
..."Man, I was researching peak oil back in early 2004. I knew most of this was going to happen, and nobody would listen...I told yall so!"
I wonder if eventually I'll get sick of saying that to idiot after idiot, and just say nothing.
