I stopped hoping, started planning in earnest, put the plan in effect. Thanks to all on the board who contributed.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Hawkcreek', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'B')ut it would be nice for us all to meet up one day....(she says wistfully).

Who is going to start a yearly PO convention?
I will show up if I have at least a couple of months notice, and it is somewhere in the middle of the country.
Any organizers out there?

I started a thread on this notion many moons ago, and it died on the vine, I'm afraid.

Some objected to the gas-guzzling travel that would be involved. Others were concerned about fisticuffs breaking out (imagine Golem coming at you with an iron pentagram!). But basically there wasn't much interest.

Maybe we could have regional conventions, or at least statewide conventions. But then you might not meet your favorite people.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Arsenal', '1'). Preparing make me feel sane/insane at the same time.

Instant classic.

This site has changed my behavior immensely. I now ride my bicycle to work and have a garden again. People actually say i look better. Before i found out about this mess i thought i had little to look forward in life as it would be hard for me to really get ahead in life. even though im not where i want to be, (a homestead is not cheap) i now feel i am ahead of the curve. That really feels good inside.

No other place on or offline can so instantly challenge a basic thought process. And nothing gets by you guys.

i will be able to put up a years supply of canned corn, tomatos, salsa, vegetable juice, spaghetti sauce, pickled beets, beans kraut and cukes this year. With out po.com that very well might not have happened. I could still be clueless.

PO.com has made my arsenal larger 8)

changed me? too many way to count. it can make a guy weird. i now consider my 300+ mason jar collection and pressure cooker one of my most valuable possessions. i didnt think like that 2.5 years ago and i didnt have that stuff then either. its weird.

This place has made me more intelligent, responsible and ethical.

Yes this place has changed me a lot in 2.5 years.
