I understand why a lot of posters think 17 is too young. These days, a lot of 17-year-olds are playing video games and just getting their first part-time jobs. But by the sounds of it, RedStateGreen's daughter and her fiance sound quite mature, so they could be exceptions rather than today's norm.

My husband asked me to marry him when he was 19, I was 17. We actually wed when he was 23 and I, 21. We are still going strong, 33 years after he gave me that promise ring. Lots of people marry in their 30's and the marriage is short-lived, so it really depends on the people.

They love each other and want to show the world by getting married. These are sad times but that's a happy thing. And becoming a machinist is a smart move. Sounds like a good kid.

Actually, very much! We've had ups and downs over the years (life can be unpredictable), but we've worked through everything together and are very close.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Specop_007', 'I')'m going to be honest, and I mean no disrespect.

I have yet to see a couple my generation or younger who married before the age of 21 that are still together. I'm 30. I'm sorry, but we dont live 50 years ago and we dont have the family values and morales of 50 years ago. .

:0 funny our family lives in a conservative town, homeschools, stay at home mom with many friends who have married early and happily with 5 and 6 kids. I guess I like being stuck with the family values of 50 years ago. Thats because we VALUE family! I suggest people dont become enslaved automotons to the status qou of increasing the GDP. Do your own thing.
