Wel, this event will eliminate the bad guys at the top first,
The poor and down and out will survive.

Most of us with a computer are in the upper half so die-off from the top down isn't such a hot idea (color me self-centered) and I don't think the starving masses are going to be able to pull it off anyway.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A') steady diet of rabbit or other exclusively animal tissue results in scurvy, an ascorbic acid deficiency. It usually isn't fatal & takes more than one month to develop.

This is not quite right according to Wikipedia :

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'R')abbit starvation is the form of acute malnutrition caused by excess consumption of any lean meat (specifically rabbit) coupled with a lack of other sources of nutrients. Symptoms include diarrhea, headache, lassitude, a vague discomfort and hunger that can only be satisfied by consumption of fat or carbohydrates.

[edit] Possible mechanisms

* Lack of fats in the diet.
* Rabbit being comparatively low in some amino acids that human beings cannot themselves synthesize.
* Lean meat, being mostly protein, must be broken down into amino acids and then converted into glucose (via gluconeogenesis) in order to be used as an energy source. This process takes time and can not be done quickly enough to meet the energy requirements of an active person. After the body's energy reserves (fat) are depleted, the energy requirements to sustain basic life processes are not met.
* The ammonia released during the process of converting amino acids into glucose cannot be cleared by conversion to urea quickly enough. The buildup of ammonia is poisonous.

Even I was surprised. I always thought that rabbit starvation was because your body depleted it's store of B vitamins. I guess I was wrong too.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('sciencegirl', 't')o kill off the population.

I have been looking into fluoride (that is in our drinking water) quite extensively lately. My current conclusion is that this population control through the food supply could already be well on its way.

Here's some info compiled on fluoride.

Or find your own...

Maybe we could just ask people to conserve and ask young couples take into account enivormental impact when planning a family?

This thread isn't as out there as it may seem.

Current conspiracy/(maybe not conspiracy) is true and changes will be made to codex alimentarius making certain vitamins illegal and certain toxins legal in foods. Codex alimentarius stops being voluntary and becomes manditory as governments yield to the UN in the face of a massive world wide food crisis. Now our foods come nutrient and vitamin devoid, and it becomes totally acceptable for known toxins to be used or put in our foods.

Is it THAT much of a stretch?

malnourishment is commonplace and cancer rates skyrocket (although, this could very easily remain unknown to the public as widespread and easily accessible health care becomes a thing of the past.

Again, how much of a stretch is this?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Ludi', 'K')illing the people who support you doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Our society is a big pyramid scheme. You can't kill those at the bottom (in vast numbers) without the whole thing collapsing.

Just my naive opinion.

This makes sense to me, Ludi

the people at the top need those on the bottom.

What about cannibalism? You left out cannibalism, I mean, that's a lot of good meat going to waste there.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('burtonridr', 'I') agree... We could do without the upper half, great leaders always seem to shine through the dust when the old ones have perished.

You cannot however replace the bottom half, its like the engine in a car. You cannot get a car very far without an engine. The top half would represent a fuel, you can always dream up a new fuel or energy source.

I dunno about cutting the population in half. I still very much need to keep both of my halves intact. I am planning to stick around for a while longer and ride this one to the bitter end, whatever that may be...
