The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

You gotta get that hole in the ceiling fixed. That cat looks pretty voyaristic. ;)

I made some comments on youtube.

Good luck with the new house, baby & lease on life. ;)

I guess lolcats are the next great source of alternative energy for the peakoil homestead.

Thank you for inviting us into your home, that is something I never expected..

Have a nice day and say hi to the wife and kids.

That place would have been very empty without you,

Give the little one a hug.

Not exactly what I expected, but nice...looks cozy...like home.

Whatz up with the coleman factor bro?

So do you own... as in no mortgage?

Rent from bank?

or rent from landlord?

A view of mortality can definitely reorder priorities. You have a lovely family. And kitty-cats, too.

Thanks all,

It's nice spot and will meet the immediate needs for the near-term. Since I believe the housing market is still in a free-fall, we are waiting for more wiggle-room before contemplating a new buy; so we are leasing for now. Another 12 - 18 months should reveal more appropriate values in housing, especially in Houston, than we see today.

That property is listed around $200,000, which I feel is still way too high.

I'm sure the owner feels differently. :)

Anyway, lots of changes in rapid succession for us recently.

You are quite welcome.

I lead a public life to some extent, and accept that as a consequence of advocating for this important topic. It becomes painfully obvious after some period of time, that the driving force of this forum is the unquestionable sincerity of it's principal members, including myself.

So in sharing more intimate moments of my quite ordinary life with the folks here, I can communicate this sincere dedication in simple, human terms which are ultimately a quicker & more powerful way to get the point across.

There is some kind of magic in these here InterTubes, isn't there though?

Being able to gather in this fashion and congregate on our lives in the shadow of hydrocarbon depletion.

Perhaps...?

It's lovely, Aaron. Nice to see all your loved ones, too.

I think your place needs a puppy, though. Do your cats like dogs?

I pictured a Labrador Retriever running towards the pool, and then mid-air, ears back, getting ready for the splash!
