One of the "talking heads" on the Bloomberg tv was talking about oil "stabilizing" at $150/barrel-I guess they are basing this on decreased demand-hmmmm I'll believe that when I see it....

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('CoachT', 'I')f you are invested in oil, don't hold on too long. It will continue to drop. Possibly a large drop this week. By September you need to be out or you will lose big time.

I think we need a CoachT appreciation thread.

OF,

Im going to really enjoy you eating crow when we spike back up again. This is just another example of your continued immature and shallow tactic of dredging up old threads to make some childish point.

Its really transparent.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('AirlinePilot', 'O')F,

Im going to really enjoy you eating crow when we spike back up again.

Except that I've never said it would never go back up again.

Heck, in the 2009 oil price guess thread I guessed it would top out at $60 this year.

Sorry, I saw this thread when I looked through CoachT's posts, having caught my attention in the thread he started today, and thought I'd give him his due. :) He's called it better than just about anyone else on this forum, myself included.

Really? Sound like sour grape to me AP. He was simply pointing out that CoachT made the best calls. Just the facts.

There wasn't a big drop that week, or the next. September ended above where September started, though still well below the high, earlier in the year, at $111.

It won't continue to drop, of course. Long term, the trend is for higher prices, though a depression would put a damper on that - nothing to cheer about, there.

Sour Grapes?

Hah, as a matter of fact I LOVE these low prices! More flying time in my own plane and better news amongst all the current crap for the industry I work in.

Ive been around here long enough that I just dont buy into any oil glut lasting very long the SECOND any of this economic news turns around.

This will all turn around faster than you can say Jack Robinson.

CoachT posted that on July 8, when the price was somewhere around $140. By September it was down to the low-$100's. He was spot on.

I know when he posted it and my comments on it are spot on. I'm not saying he got it badly wrong, I'm saying that he doesn't have a crystal ball and he guessed roughly right, in terms of a slide in prices, but the details weren't necessarily spot on.

However, if you want to worship his guess, go ahead. Perhaps you should ask him for some investment advice for the next 6 months.
