More and more I am convinced that the average age of people who make it past the bottleneck will be 55.

Bored suburbinites throwing an aerosol can in the fire place for excitement. They are going to sh*t their pants when they see what real excitement is. Life and death survival

Those people did what all people should be doing : play.
Stop everything, and go play. What to eat ? Grow some food, chances are that your job is among the 95% not involved in agriculture, so you were not producing any food anyway.
The fact that they did not know what they were doing is another thing, I am sure they are not retarded or suicidal and would have not done that if they knew.

What I saw there was people learning stuff, yes they should have known, maybe they won't survive trough peak oil. Want to blame them for that ? Maybe they did not have the chances you had, to find the truth. You think telling them and showing them sites, and graphs and movies is enough ?
For me it wasn't. From the first time I saw a site about peak oil it took me a year to become a little curious and search more. Before that I dismissed it, thinking "Ya sure another doomsday prophecy, and we have solar and wind power anyway"

Like surviving would be the most important thing. We are all going to be dead in 100 years from now. See this: link It's part of the book "The Culture of Make Believe" by Derrick Jensen.

One day there will be so many houses, that people will be bored and will go live in tents. "Why are you living in tents ? Are there not enough homes ?" "Yes there are, but we play this Economy game". Now it's "Crisis" time !Too many houses! Yes, we are insane!

This post leads me to believe that as frightening as it may be common sense is even less common in Romania then it is here. 8O

You can clearly hear them discussing to hurry up because the can is going to explode. Its generally common knowledge aerosol products are flammable. This is further supported by the fact they were shooting it by a fireplace. The fact they were trying to puncture a flammable product by a fire......They had an idea what would happen.

Its similiar to someone putting a fork in an outlet because they KNOW there is electricity there.
In a small child its forgivable. In anyone over the age of 10 theres a certain level of expectations in making the connection between actions and consequences.
To dismiss this as you have is borderline criminal in my opinion.

They obviously knew some type of explosion would happen they just didn't know exactly what would happen. Now they know, and anyone who sees that video will know exactly what happens if you shoot an aerosol can in a fireplace. All in all not that stupid, and an exciting way to spend time. Though if you were trying to be as safe as you could, you wouldn't do that, but there is little joy in a safe life.

Dude, playing with fire is one thing... yes it is fun
Playing with explosives in a home is just plain RETARDED.
You obviously dont know the value of a dollar. I watch that and think "What a lucky son of a bitch, he didnt destroy anything of value in the house and it didnt catch anything on fire!"
Its all fun and games until you burn down your house...
I think it is funny as hell to watch when someone else does it, still they are just stupid.

Gentle reminder, fellow posters: It is Not necessary to hit the 'Enter' key two or three times after each sentence. The additional blank lines make the posts more difficult to read, and, it is a waste of precious bandwidth.
And, when you are quoting another poster’s post, please delete those portions to which you are Not responding. Thank you for helping to make this a quality site. :)
