$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PenultimateManStanding', 'I') always figured that Limbaugh owed his success more to his delivery style and voice than to his thought.

He is nothing but a caricature. His rants are predictable, like an automaton working off a script. You heard one show you've heard them all.

I listen to him at work sometimes this past month. It's either that or shitty pop music. The classic rock stations have horrible reception. I listen mainly for the entertainment. I mean, how can so many people be so fucking retarded?

But Mos is right, listen to one, you've listened to them all. I'm gonna have to get a Quran iPod to dull the boredom of work because I can't stand listening to those guys anymore and their anti-intellectualism.

And what's up with him pronouncing Brzezinski? "And on MSNBC with Joe Scarborouh, Mika...Zzzzzhhhhinki..blah blah". I never listened to him before the implant, so I can't compare.

When the drug infested, bloated Rush finally kicks off, he will receive about as much respect as the Reverend Righteous Jerry Falwell. Not that he cares.
The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life.

Rush Limbaugh's speech changes could be due to his hearing loss.

Nope, not kidding. I have listened to them all for years.

Just because I have listened to them for years, does not mean that I take everything they say to be the ultimate truth. In most of their rants against liberals, I am firmly behind them. But on the topic of Peak Oil and Global Warming, I take issue with what they say.

They mis use the term liberal. It has nothing to do with quasi populists. I can't stand am radio at all, even air america and sports radio.

I would love to hear community centric talk radio. Someone like Art Bell, but not all the UFO consipracy type stuff.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('kpeavey', 'J')ust off Drudge: LIMBAUGH SIGNS THROUGH 2016; $400M DEAL SHATTERS BROADCAST RECORDS

2016? Looks like Clear Channel just put a *big* bet on Obama to win the election and win re-election. Probably a good bet.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('cbxer55', '
')I was under the impression that if oBOMBa got elected, the libs were going to try and re-instate the "fairness doctrine". If that happens it will pretty much take all talk shows off of the air.

You are aware that Obama has dismissed those calls several times, right? Not saying he won't go back on it, but he's on record being opposed to reinstating it.

http://www.broadcastingcable.com/article/CA6573406.html

He's quite well aware that the current Supreme Court wouldn't buy the "limited spectrum" argument, and I don't think he wants to give Limbaugh et al a stage to play the martyr status they so love.

I was under the impression that if oBOMBa got elected, the libs were going to try and re-instate the "fairness doctrine". If that happens it will pretty much take all talk shows off of the air. Because it requires stations to broadcaast opposing views. That would probably invalidate Rush's new contract. AM radio would get pretty darn boring real fast. A lot of stations would probably go off the air, since their bread-and-butter is conservative talk shows.
Sure hope that does not happen!

Democrats aren't liberals. Look at the former PM of Australia or the current PM for Denmark. They're true liberals.

NY Times:

Late-Period Limbaugh

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I') had come to talk to Limbaugh about his role in Republican Party politics. During the primaries he assailed John McCain as a phony conservative and apostate Reaganite. Despite Limbaugh’s best efforts, it now appeared that the Arizona senator would be the nominee. There was speculation that Limbaugh would not support him in November.

“I’ve never even met the man, never spoken to him,” Limbaugh said. “I’m sure there are things about him I’d like if we meet. This isn’t personal.” He then delivered a litany of the presumptive nominee’s personal failings — too old, too intense, too opportunistic, too liberal. But, he assured me, he would be with McCain in the fall. “It’s like the Super Bowl,” he told me. “If your team isn’t in it, you root for the team you hate less. That’s McCain.”

And by the way, it's idiotic to be jealous of another man's money.
