Hello I would like to know if there are any guys on this board married to pinay's and if so how are you handling this problem of peakoil , do you live in the states or in PI.
I have been married for over 5 years and have 2 children, the plan was to move back to PI in the near future but now Im wondering if that will be a good idea.
Anyways would like to hear from others on your ideas or plans.

PI = Philippine Islands, Pinay is a colloquial term for Filipina, the feminine form of Pinoy.

Now, let the thread resume.

I have a good friend who is pinoy.

He struggles constantly with the urge to go back home and establish a charitable institution for wayward young women, but that's not PO related.

I though pinay's was slang for pinheads....so that's a relief. We're just talking mail order brides, not Zippy's twin sister.

You don't have a clue what your talking about to classify every man to be married to a Pinay as a mail order bride is not only ignorant but also completely disrespectful to the Filipino women.
Your just a keyboard general with tough talk and ignorant comments your a man's man Im sure.
It's funny guys like you never make such comments in person I wonder why.

Where I live, nearly all the Filipina women married to locals are arranged through agencies. I wasn't meaning to be insulting in the least. Sorry you took it that way. Peace bro.

I am married to a pilipino who is an RN, who is not a mail order bride and was US citizen before we married (threadbear take note).

I would actually like to go to the Philippines to retire but I am somewhat worried about the growing hostility towards Americans by the poor.

On the positive side it is cheap, you can get cheap house servants, and you won't need as much energy if you're not planning on doing a lot of sight seeing.

On the negative side, the Philippines is the biggest rice importer and food may become an issue in the future. Plus in general health care is worse.

I suppose there are many other factors that could enter into the decision based upon personal preferences and expectations.
It's already over, now it's just a matter of adjusting.

Can you imagine how much the flight will cost you in a few years?

Seriously it will be north of 3 grand and your income will be a lot less.
