The human brain is always being presented with a choice between two possibilities and running with an educated guess (fuzzy logic). What I think Ludi is saying is when you derive ALL your data from one source, you are effective turning your brain OFF. This is what happens, for instance, in a Cult, conservative talk radio, or a country with no free speech where all information is carefully filtered. The best way to truly strengthen your beliefs about any topic is to hold them up to brutal scrutiny from the other side.
