To Hell with Tim Russert--Capitol Hill Blue:

"In fact, the toughest questioning Russert did in recent memory was of Morgan Spurlock, unimportant filmmaker and producer of 'Super Size Me'. Russert managed to summon up more disbelief and more contempt for the poor fellow whose provocative idea was that 'fast food is bad for you' than for, to name but one example, Vice President Dick Cheney and his claim that Americans would be greeted in Iraq as 'liberators'.

When 'hard' questioning has to be relegated to Comedy Central, where it can then be viewed as a kind of aberration, three cheers for the press establishment, so thoroughly compromised -- as Russert was -- by people moving back and forth over the line between journalism and politics that everyone overlooks each other's failings and in unison all lower their standards."

RIP, Tim Russert.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('mos6507', 'I')'m waiting for someone to claim he was assassinated by "THEM".

He was assassinated by them. The bilderbergs and the trilateral commission got word that he was putting together a tell all on the true nature of the power structure around the world. To keep a lock on their power they decided to put an end to the threat.

This post is ironic isn't it, considering Tim died of a coronary problem.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PenultimateManStanding', 'Y')es, too sad for Russert and his family. But somebody died today in Philadelphia, in Dallas, on a highway in Iowa, in a flood, several died in a Boy Scout camp from a tornado, thousands died in recent weeks from earthquakes and typhoons in Burma and China. Somebody just suffocated from a piece of chicken lodged in their throat. Somebody just fell down the stairs. Somebody just got shot in a robbery in Tuscon, AZ. Some schmuck in Manitoba got electrocuted giving an acid bath to a swimming pool when the pump shorted out. Somebody got hit by a bus while thinking about an argument with her boyfriend and not paying attention. Somebody got eaten by a Great White shark. A little child drowned in a five gallon bucket. A despondent former employee of Bear-Stearns shot himself. A mountain climber fell off a mountain. A scuba diver got caught in kelp. A cop was shot by a creep. A fire-fighter was burned alive. A soldier got hit by an IED. Somebody had a piano fall on them. Somebody got hit in the head by a fallen driveshaft on the freeway. Somebody forgot to breath while they were sleeping. Somebody got carried away with speed balls. Somebody got hit by lightning. Somebody had their heart explode. Somebody had their cells go mutant. Somebody had a jealous lover shoot them in the head with a crossbow. Somebody even managed to get bitten by the Beaked Sea Snake, the most venomous snake in the world but it rarely bites anyone.

famous person I guess. I feel bad for anyone's family who loses aloved one.

I feel sorry for you guys.

I really do.
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('threadbear', 'O')ne down, several hundred media shills to go. Did anyone catch him interviewing Ron Paul? He must have made his handlers happy that day.

I remember how he roughed up Paul. He made him look like an old, confused fool.

Nevertheless, there was something fundamentally likeable about Tim Russert, and I regret his death.
