I learned about race violence when I started working in the county jail system at age 21. All inmates had to be partnered up by race. There was also racial violence inmate vs. inmate. Races did not eat or socialize together while in jail. It opened my eyes to the fact that everyone is not as colorblind as I am.

So while race may not matter to you or me, it matters to a ton of other people. For that reason, I would not want to see a mixed race bread line in some areas. It may cause more problems than it solved.

What Jato is saying is right on the mark. But I believe it may be more than just in jails down the road. The toughest and most dangerous sociopaths (such as those enforcing the racial divisions in most jails) among us will be exerting significantly more and more influence in daily life as things get tighter in the large urban areas where most Westerners live. The meek and weak will either comply or get shoved aside.

If the probable gas lines of 2005/2006 are much worse than the ones the USA experienced in the 70's, they'll be perfect examples for us to see of societies coming ruthlessness.

Thing Falling Into Place

Unread postby Possum » Tue 25 Jan 2005, 18:55:49

Have noticed a couple of 'signposts' lately that things are changing.

My observations are to do with the Real Estate Bubble that has been growing on the back of low interest rates.

I opened up the local newspaper yesterday, and found the Real Estate section 3 times bigger than the paper :!:

People are selling up big time. In my area, over the last 2 years, it seemed every 2nd house was being renovated or new being built. And i live 15km out of town.

I think people have started to pay back their loans, and have realized they may be over their heads in debt.

As an investor, it is usually amusing to watch the cycles of the market, and get ready to pounce when people are panicking and getting out.

However this time, with PO knowledge under my belt, and having read links relating to the poor state of the US economy, I'm jittery.

The other signpost was logging onto a RE investment website forum I was heavily involved in prior to finding out about PO.
This is the biggest one in Australia.

The moderator had started a new thread called 'Where is everyone"
She went on to say that the site had been virtually abandoned for the last 2 months - no posts, no views!! She said unless there was interest soon, it may have to be closed down!! EERIE!!

I'm outta there!! We are selling up all investments.
Very strange for us... we were committed for the long term (25years)

For me, the writing is definitely on the wall.
And I'm thankful to the 'Universe' that we have stumbled onto this info. and have the ability to act on it NOW.

That's where I'm at.
Time for a nap

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')ell me, do you honestly think blacks and mexicans are going to humbly line up and wait their turn for food if things get that bad? Black people won't even wait in line at amusement parks!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Kingcoal', 'M')y Grandmother, who was a school teacher, supported 6 kids and a husband through the depression. My Grandfather, who had lost his business, went out everyday looking for any work he could find. There was lots of relatively simple meals and a lot of sewing skills were used, but they all emerged unscathed.

$200/bl oil will stop the world economy in it's tracks, like the great depression. Transportation, acounting for 60-70% of world oil usage will be hit the worst. Oil usage will become prioritized. Will governments allow people to starve and freeze? I doubt it. I don't agree with the doomers. Humanity has survived much much worse in our brief history on this planet. I think we are looking at socialism in the future similar to the socialism which emerged in the Great Depression.

the only thing worse humans have survived was the one super volcano eruption in Asia that sent our numbers in Africa plummeting to just a few thousand due to the changes in climate a super volcano can do. i forget the name of it.

Toba - on the northern end of the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. Very close to where that big earthquake triggered the Boxing Day tsunami.
