$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('biofuel13', 'I')n this adventure the young will have the advantage.

When I was 18 and at the height of physical fitness, outweighing my dad by 50 pounds, I came up behind him and threw him into a full nelson for fun.

The next thing I knew I was on the ground wondering why kidney's hurt so bad.

Do not under-estimate the value of being old and mean

LOL I am actually old and mean, but I think the younger generations have a greater chance at making it through this.

Exactly what I visualize. That is the ultimate bugout paradise.

Until TPTB showed up and shot him.

I don't know if that setup was ideal or not, but it looked cool.

To the OP, I think that the future will be a bit like one of these stories you hear about a group of hikers setting off on a journey, running into a freak storm, not taking the situation seriously early enough, and as a result several of them die from exposure while wandering around hoping to be rescued.

Peak oil will be an adventure to some at first, but the adventure will quickly give way to the harsh and unforgiving hand of mother nature as she cleans house. Survival will be a function of embracing grim realities and coping with them skillfully and with much mental flexibility. Dwelling upon preconceived notions and expectations of exciting adventures may just be an easy way to find an early demise.

When you're a young male, though, I understand the temptation to view dramatic upheaval as an opportunity for adventure.

Who knows, maybe there will be some Peak Oil Captain Jack Sparrows.
