The Next Big Thing in Radio Contests: Free Gas!

Unread postby charliebrownout » Thu 05 Jun 2008, 13:14:16

:?

Forgive me for not knowing the EXACT number of contests of this nature, but I can say, there have been at least two or three here in the Southwest in recent weeks.

I was flipping through the stations the other day and stumbled across one such contestant receiving the news she had just one $1000 in gas.

The woman was practically moved to tears. You would've thought she'd one a live-saving-medical-treatment for her only son with the way she was talking. Seriously. It was surreal.

My only thought is...what next? As the economy circles the toilet bowl...will radio stations offer free groceries to listeners?

I can just see it: Listen to KFUKD FM and win in our Daily Bread giveway! Seriously, if you win you can have bread! Imagine that!

Then again, if it gets to that point, will we have radios and radio stations around and will they be able to afford a bread giveaway?

I think I fell down a rabbit hole somewhere along the way.

My wife and I shook our heads at our local radio station they are running a contest.

Pump or Pumps: That is you have the option of getting free gas for a year or going on a shoe shopping spree..

Too many people called in wanting the shoes...

I don't know, maybe they were thinking ahead (if they were good walking shoes).

If they really were high-heeled pumps, yeah, that's pretty stupid. High-heeled shoes in general are stupid...as every woman or cross-dressing man knows on some level :)
