I must confess that when I made my comment about Europe being within walking distance of Russia and China, I was not thinking about England Mexico has discovered the successful way to invade the United States. An army would be met at the border and fried. Millions seeking work have slipped through the border and invaded every village.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Micki', 'E')urope continues the consumer fest a bit longer before they crash and burn in a similar way to USA.

There's a crucial difference, though. Europe does have a negative trade balance with China, it's true, but nothing like to the same degree the US does. And the EU's not bleeding money out its ass the way the US is right now. The US is really spending stupidly at this point in history. History handed them a big fat candle and they're pointing a blow torch at it. I don't want the EU to be a giant superpower telling everyone else what to do any more than I want the US doing it... but if the EU is prudent, there's no reason I can see they can't live well and get the things they want from the rest of the world. The US could do this too but they're too preoccupied trying to demonstrate what big nuts they have... when all they prove is what big nuts they are.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('idomar', 'F')or Europe to declare independence th UK needs to end it's 'special relationship' with the US.

Or the EU needs to end its special relationship with the UK. British self-exceptionalism, on immigration, rights issues, and particularly the euro, are the biggest single drag on the organization. The Brits need to get it straight: they're in Europe, not North America. That's OUR cross to bear, not theirs. They should be damn glad they're where they are right now and start bloody acting like it.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('GASMON', 'O')h, your quote above, NEVER, NEVER try to tell an Englishman he is a European. Napoleon, The Kaiser & Hitler all tried, and failed.

Dude, you're a European. Get over yourself. The first people to settle in Britain during the retreat of the last glaciation did so by WALKING there from Normandy. If it weren't for a warm streak of piss between you and Calais, Napoleon would have summering in Lancaster and Hitler would have had a chalet in the Campsies. The English rowed over from Denmark and Germany; the Vikings, the Normans... where do you think they came from, Jupiter? Don't tell an Englishman he's a European... yeah, don't tell your thumb it's a finger either.
