$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('dream16', 'H')i... I have been lurking in the background for a couple of weeks now. I originally found po when i was doing a search on self sufficient living/ homesteading . I ran across this site and peeked in to see what yall had to say ..... I dont care if you call it peak oil, peak water, peak food ect. All I really know is that most of the people are gonna wish they had some kind of peak preparation when ever all this peak SHTF. 8O

That a very likely scenario. Peak oil and water could very well quickly lead to peak 'a whole lot of other things' as we scramble desperately to replace each with costlier and increasingly destructive alternatives.

I realize you can't replace water... sheeesh ... but you can remove ground water quicker and dam more rivers, build more canals, etc...

Well I was just using it as an example... but since you brought it up, water is a very important commodity that everyone needs in order to survive and if you cant afford it ... well you know where this is going, it just dosent matter how many canals, dams or other are built .. people are gonna die. Where i live the city is on well water .. the nitrate levels are so high that it is just too risky to drink. The house we live in used to have a well, but it has been capped. We have resorted to buying ro water in town at 25 cents a gallon, that gets expensive. We are looking into buying an ro unit for the house, later we may uncap the well and see what it is like or if it is just as undrinkable as the rest ..

I think one thing all the new members need to realize is there is no need to post a new post every single time you want to talk about something. The reason the older members are asking you to post on old posts is very much about organization. When I log on and there is 6 pages of THREAD TITLES to browse thru, and I try to read every single post, well hell... If we could condense that down to one or two pages of posts, but still have everyone posting, life would be alot easier to read.

So please please pretty please, search for something that says what your trying to say before posting. If nothing else, it will impress the older members that yes, you are actually making an effort and trying to find those topics. You might even get your question answered before you post just in the search.

But overall, welcome.
