DHS - What are they for again?

Unread postby Cashmere » Wed 28 May 2008, 18:48:31

Some IRS employees go on strike.
So what do the bosses do?

Apparently they call in the Department of Homeland Security, which promptly shows up to tell the protesters they need a permit to picket.

The question is, what the hell is the DHS doing bothering with IRS picketing?

Does this not reek of the DHS being used as a internal, federal police force for the suppression of internal protest?

What is the security issue here?

BT, I gotta tell yuh, I'm much more afraid of the DHS than the "terrorists."

I've now seen DHS agents at peace rallies and at union pickets.

They're not even trying to hide the fact that they're the equivalent of Brown shirts.

Being federal employees, IRS workers are under federal government jurisdiction while on the job (or outside it, picketing.) In other words, why call the DHS? Why not, if you can. They can call the DHS and the DHS has the jurisdiction. Private sector employers don't have that luxury; they have to put up with the picketers.
