Hubbert's Peak Oil Creative Works

Unread postby hubbertspeakorg » Wed 28 May 2008, 12:29:21

I have been cruising around the board for a couple days and have noticed a large number of Texans. We just started a NPO called Hubert's Peak Creative Works, that is based in Austin. This is a side project for the already established, Sustainable Waves solar stages company. We are seeking to help people educate themselves on what all is out there and give them hands-on practice through our weekly workshops . In case you do not live in Texas but you still want to be involved you can sign up for our enewsletter on our site: Hubbertspeak.org

Hubbert’s Peak Creative Works was created to find energy solutions for the next generation. We seek to be a demonstration laboratory that provides a venue for the alternative energy industry to demonstrate new technologies as they develop. Hubbert’s Peak provides hands-on experience for students interested in training or re-training for a career in the emerging “green collar” industry. This experiential approach to education is grounded in over 20 years of solar installations. This real world experience will provide for effective teaching and mentoring of students. Recognizing the role of energy in our global community, the school will foster the ideals of sustainable growth, public service, and global understanding.

In addition to the poll, it will take the application of all useful energy avenues, but the question is to ask the major component of our energy grid. Also if you want to play your music on a solar stage, every tuesday we have an open mic.

Your survey question called up the image of Edward G. Robinson pedalling a battery charger in "Soylent Green"

Something like that.
The battle to preserve our lifestyle has already been lost. The battle to preserve our lives is just beginning.

You got that from a mere poll, wow. Well you leaving remarks that the solution will not come form laboratories but from our museums is the paradox that surrounds the "green movement". Viridian movement is a better term used by Bruce Sterling. Green design draws upon natural things obviously, and the natural possibilities are without end, what better subject for a laboratory that something that can always be redesigned. Making sustainability profitable is another paradox that we are facing today, and as long as we pursue our ends with organic means laboratories will provide a positive source of jobs. Our NPO is seeking to train people on an individual level and to give them the tools needed to provide for themselves while carrying the torch of sustainability.
