Hi to all of you bright, industrious internet folks -

If there's two things to learn here that would save time for Mods and keep the noise to signal ratio down to a minimum, it would be:

1. There's nothing new under the sun, and

2. It's already been posted on this website.

So if you can't find it, you're not trying hard enough.

And if you can't spend the time to find it then it wasn't worth posting that tripe anyhow.

Remember, life is a conspiracy.
Maybe you ought to choose not to participate.

Every k_semlar post today was already here.
KevO's too, as well as Bongoman's.
I gave up after those three.

Everything from Abiotic Oil to Zero Point energy has been discussed.

The only thread I could not find was a thread discussing how it has all been discussed. I think I just covered that.

The other oversight I noted was no one has started a thread on Time. This would be the most important thread ever because it would explain why no one is going to give up on petroleum until every last drop is gone. Our time on this planet is limited, and one must squeeze as much fun as possible into the short amount of time we have.

I now consider the website to be nearly complete.

Carry on. ;-)

I searched for it anyway. No luck,

And how do you Search? Use the Search function at the top of the screen. There's also the quick and dirty Google po.com located in the sidebar, right above the Code of Conduct, which is also worth reading.

Dude and Basil,

Thank you! We are up to armpits in alligators with all the new posters.

As the Dude pointed out-googe peakoil.com and what ever subject you are interested in. Chances are that horse has been dead and everyone has long since dismounted.

The open section has been a marvelous catch all things normally found in the Conspiracy Grotto. It's ok to revive old threads but to try and start multiple new threads-well its irritating to the herd.

I can't blame the new guys. They're, well.... new! New to this issue, new to it all. I say let them post the questions all over again instead of wasting time searching. Who knows. WE regulars may even learn something from them.

I remember I couldn't wait to get an answer from someone... anyone.... to questions that now seem so basic. I remember Monte getting mad (easy to do) over my pestering him with simple (to him, anyhow) questions. I had to know NOW! It was so shocking!

Let them ask away. PM me if you're shy. PM any one of the long-time members. I strongly suspect all of us will be happy to answer basic questions and concerns. Or direct you.

This is so great!! :)

New they may be, but can't they have some command of grammar: thermal depolymerizatio n a end to peak oil?

I'm thinking you old farts could have helped out a newbie in the time it took to tap out that try at sarcasm.

Maybe it has already been discussed and beaten to death, but it takes a fair amount of effort to find a topic of interest, and then you have to wade through a lot of stuff to get at the key points of the discussion.

It would much easier to find things if the information was organized into subjects with finer granularity and some additional filtering done to remove off-topic or non-informative messages.

Then a DVD could be produced with this information and added to the "Peak Gear" section.

That post took about 25 seconds. I don't slow down for nothin'! You're ragging on the guy who started a thread called "Posting Tips," too!

And I include some help in this thread!

Actually we did, which proves your hypothesis:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '1'). There's nothing new under the sun, and

2. It's already been posted on this website.

Just to recap, time is motion in numerical form, it was understood by early civilizations, the church stole it and behold the gregorian time piece was born.

There you go, now the site is complete.

Keep in mind that newbies generally don't even know what to search for yet.

That's why I thought we should have post that had links to every thread related to a specific topic, with microsummaries.

They could be in their own forum, the "Summarization Forum" or something like that. Or Peak Oil Directory.

That way newbies could quickly learn whatever they needed to know.

Furthermore, we could have a post that gave a brief overview of peak oil, the consequences, ect... just like Matt Savinar has at his site.

He reaches way more people I think because of his format, or at least he has more post in his forum.

Stop being a bunch of whiny little bitches. If you don't want to respond to a post that has been re-visited to ad nauseum, then don't post. Plus, the search feature on this forum, is a pile of shit. If you do a search for abiotic you will pull up 404 matches; now it will be 405 and the script doesn't bother to sort based on relevance, only based on date.

That is a lot of crap to sift through in order to find one little nugget of real knowledge. So as I said earlier, stop being a fucking douche bag.

I would just like to take a moment to say thanks to grink1tt3n for posting in the technical thread that link to easy access to recent posts many months ago when the 24 hour thread stopped working. I also think the add ons to that page (thread lists on the left, oil graphs, explanations at bottom of page) are great.
