$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('dunewalker', 'F')erretlover, what I meant was that "newbies" deserve to be treated with respect rather than condescension. A gentle guiding hand is sufficient.

This cuts both ways. I defended Hillbilly and he spit in my face. I've relegated Hillbilly to my permanent ignore bin. Sorry, Hillbilly.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('eastbay', 'T')hat reminds me. A small group of us went to Red Robin the other day. *** Anyhow, we noticed almost every person in there was obese. I haven't been there for a few years and back then this had never occurred to me. It was quite amazing. Table after table of blubber. Fat people wallowing in and out. It was like a scene from a sci-fi movie.

 Thank you for that observation.

That, in a nutshell, epitomizes America's problem.

Hillbilly, there are a lot of smart, reasonable and well-mannered people here, but you have to do your part too.

You did not enter our house with your best manners, and you found that others didn't meet you with their best manners either. Does that surprise you?

You would be shocked at how friendly and interesting the conversations can be here if you would just be respectful and tolerant of others until you get a better feel for how things work here.

If you invested the time, you would find that you could learn a lot from others here, and you could probably share a lot of great experiences and knowledge you have with some of the younger folks who don't have the benefit of your experiences and wisdom.

Hang around if you would like, but please do so with a little more humility. I think you will be surprised at how different your reception will be.

Ditto for BigTex.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Hillbilly', 'T')his site should be renamed " Forum For The Degenerants Of America"

Do you think this kind of arrogant rhetoric is a good example of your faith in practice?

There are all kinds of people here, different ideologies, beliefs, socioeconomic backgrounds and nationalities. You might find you've got quite a bit in common with many of them.

The op did push some buttons to earn a somewhat critical response. But using nasty language and name calling is almost never called for. (imo) Keep things civil, play nice folks!

If you go back to my initial post, you will see that it was simply asking for help to find a subject in which I was interrested.

Many of the replies I received attempted to embarrass and insult me with profanity and derrogotory remarks, for whatever reason. It appears to me that there is a group of low-life trolling your site, and adding no value to it whatsoever.

However, I would like to thank all of you who took time to provide links and give advice that enabled me to find what I was looking for.

The best way to fight derogatory "trolling" is to maintain a respectful level in the discussion regardless of (perceived) disrespect from the other side.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Hillbilly', 'T')his site should be renamed " Forum For The Degenerants Of America" [...] And I've been accused of being in denial.

Yeah ... Well I can sort of see why.

You come across as presumptuous and arrogant ... you might wish to think about that.
